Why does Prince waste his time with these lame protégés?
You just watch a crappy tv show like American Idol, and you find plenty of singers better than Bria or Tamar.

stop complaining people. if you don't like her, don't buy her album.

prince is releasing 2 albums this year. isn't that enough yet? why
hate on bria so much just because prince thinks she's great and he
produced an album with her?

i'm looking forward to it. i like the mellow vibe of the three songs
i've heard so far. in fact, i like her songs more that tamar's this
far. although i kind of liked tamar's album too. nothing special and
not like a real full fledged prince album for sure but still nice to
have.

everyone drools over obscure martika or god knows who demo's of some
prince penned songs and yet when a full album of new prince cuts by
a protege is released they're like "uhm, no, i don't want it to be
released".

I like her songs so far. She might not be the best singer out there but that never really mattered to me, I like a lot of singers who are technically not that great but her songs are nice and mellow.
Sure, a lot of Prince´s more recent material could have been huge in the charts if he had given those songs to other people ( for instance, Black Sweat sung by Justin Timberlake or any other young singer could have been a huge hit, same goes for a lot of other songs that he wrote for others or for himself) but hey, let the man have some fun.
I like the vibe of those Bria songs.

"Maturity" and "spirit" are pretty much an issue of how a record label molds and pitches your image to the world. I can name 20 female singers that did decently on the charts that were immature and relatively "spiritless".

Tamar is a wondeful singer.

Why Bria? Why not?

Buy it or don't. I doubt Prince cares either way.

Well, I like Tamar's voice and I'm feeling Bria's new song Another Boy. Bria's voice sounds good on the track, but I would have to wait to hear her sing live before I can give an opinion about her singing.

Tamar is a modern Stephanie Mills! Bria is wonderful!! What???

I'm not crazy about Bria or expecting much from her work with Prince, but she's already better than Jill Jones, Carmen, Mayte, Tony M, TC Ellis, Sheila E's screeching, the Mavis Staples album, those Paula Abdul songs and a lot of other post-1986 Prince music.

Tamar is a really good singer-just made a bad decision by hooking up with Prince.
