I'm a hetero male, I have no reason to be jealous, just being honest.
I don't wish her any ill will; its just that we've all seen how Prince hypes his upcoming "projects" and rarely do they turn out to be what he says they will. Plus, Prince is no Stuart Matthewman. If Stuart were behind her saying it, I'd listen. The last Sade-esque vocalist I heard was Amel Larrieux from Groove Theory and guess who she ended up working with? Stuart. Essentially Sade's sound is a combination of his musical style and Helen's voice.
Pardon me if I don't believe Prince can pull it off. If he said "I got the next Taja Sevelle or Jill Jones, then I might believe him. Of course, if he said he had the next Jill Jones, I'd know it be about 10 more years before we'd see her. (That's not a shot at Jill; people who know the back story will get it)

I think Prince Doesn't Expect her to Sell as Much as SADE. You are Misunderstanding what he means. He means her STYLE. And I do think she has Talent and can make it.

But in Prince's case love doesn't make blind but deaf. He proofed that before with Vanity/Denise, Carmen/(don't know her real name only her Prince given name)and Sheila E.(I guess this time he only messed with her last name) and last but not least Mayte Garcia who he made Mayte Nelson.

You know what? I could care less if Bria sounds anything like Sade or if she sounds like some chick on American Idol, all I care about is can this broad sing and are the songs she's singing worth a damn. I'm not expecting her to be the 2nd coming of Sade, I just want Bria to be worth a damn for me to not only buy her CD but to keep on spinning it after I get it. That's my only concern. I like what I've heard and I'm willing to give her a shot and that's based on her sound, not on if she's making the sequel to "Smooth Operator."
