Tamar anyone?

I liked the Tamar album, but it was sort of a by-the-numbers affair.
Its one of those albums that relies on the strength of the production and of the singer's voice--none of which was stellar. Not great, but not bad enough to lambaste. It might have even sold a few hundred thousand copies with the appropriate amount of promotion.

The album never came out...

Set to be Támar's debut album, Milk & Honey was originally to be titled Beautiful, Loved and Blessed, but was later renamed after one of the other tracks. The album appeared to feature significant input by Prince: many of the song titles employed his style of abbreviations. Milk & Honey was originally set to be released on May 5, 2006, but was delayed for unrevealed reasons. Several other rumored release dates came and went and the album was eventually canceled except Japan area (and then canceled in Japan after all), even though a few promotional singles had been issued.


Prince has had several proteges....most of their albums never see the light of day

Unless you have some sort of source, I think you're thread title is a little misleading. You could at least put a "?" on the end of it.

But yeah, I think it's in the back of everyone's mind that there's a possibility that this won't see the light of day. It kind of goes with the territory of being a Prince fan that one should never count the eggs before they hatch (or in this case, until the CD is in your hands!)

but yeah, it was kind of ho-hum after all the hype about her from certain quarters of the Prince fan community, people who saw her live. then again, i was never impressed with any of her television performances.

The stuff Tamar has made on her own is also appallingly bad.

Yeah, I don't expect this Bria album to come out at all. Prince has a very predictable pattern of writing bad music for his protege and then mismanaging it once it's recorded.

If you want a successful music career, don't go to Mr. Nelson.

What's the PURPOSE of NOT RELEASING stuff? Why record it then?

I'm looking forward to this triple whammy album Prince is talking about doing.

If he does offer downloads on an official site of some sort, it's possible. I doubt there will be an official hard copy of it released, though.
Prince may get distribution through a major retailer, but I doubt they would want to distribute a complete unknown.

Do these women just wanna sleep with Prince or him them with PROMISES of a BIG CAREER THEN? Is that what you are saying? I think BRIA'S album WILL come out. I believe she can be played on ADULT CONTEMPORARY or QUIET STORM LOVE STATIONS.

Also she may do better than TAMAR because she appears WHITE. It may be a Shade thing in the INDUSTRY. I don't know just saying. What do you think?

Ya'll funny. I think Bria got a nice voice, Im looking forward to hearin Bria's music too. Her look aint white by any stretch Mrgee. It aint about all that. She mad hot and the track is fire and the record comin out. Why you care so much about who Prince is bangin, why chicks wanna bang him. We at a million threads and countin, its boring now. WHO CARES! CHILL on that.

Check 4 the music and some sexy videos, concerts whateva, and try ta think of somethin better to talk about ladies. WORD

I wonder why Prince didn't just release "Milk & Honey himself. I guess it wasn't the right time. It does take time to plan releasing something on ur own. With no record label distribution

You're not taking into account the possibility that the Bria album would come packaged as a "bonus disc" for those that buy the two Prince albums together like the "B-Sides" disc was for Prince's "Hits" albums. The 2 Prince albums may be made available seperately, but also together in a box set with the Bria album.

I like Bria's voice..hope her cd does well. However, I don't like the new hair color, to dark and it tends to make her look older. I like the brownish/blonde look on her.
