I watched Spike Lee's School Daze and NOTICED that there is a scene straight out of PURPLE RAIN ...the part when the Time is in the doorway asking about the Family. And then there is a dance move that THE GAME BOYZ performed alla HORNY PONY. So I wanna know this? Do ya think Spike Copied Prince and then Prince copied SPIKE? Watch the movie..So many stars doing Cameo appearances you'd be surprised and JASMINE GUY..REMEMBER HER? | |

I remember Jasmine Guy but the movie I vagely remember. I might have to watch it again. And you can find your answer to who copied who by seeing/looking up what movie came out first

Well, Purple Rain came out first so Spike copied Prince then Prince copied the dance routine for the Game Boyz since Spike's movie came out in 1988. | |

the only part i can recall that can come close 2 this scene is when larry fisburne (yes that's how he was being called then) asked his boys 2 come 2 the rally with him and they didn't want 2 get up that early. so he was frustrated and asked them 2 step out of his dorm room. then came the knock on the door and they all were in the doorway asking him if he wanted 2 go 2 
which led 2 mace windu vs morpheus 
but the true recognition should come from the intiation party with half pint taking tisha campell 2 the "bone" room ...oh we oh .ohhhhh spike even wrote in his book 4 the movie that he was intending 2 use that part from the wizard of oz, but while filiming the movie, he picked up the sign o the times album and heard prince using that oh we oh..ohhhhh chant ..spike wasn't happy about it but stuck 2 still using it in school daze... man, he has such an amazing body of music that it's sad to see him constrict it down to the basics. he's too talented for the lineup he's doing. estelle 81 | |
