Whhich album do you prefer?

Hands down Vanity6.

Vanity6 Apollonia was just a replacement a orignial band should never be replace.

The Vanity 6 album is WAY better than A6.For one thing,Vanity was the real deal.Her "Nasty Girl" persona was genuine,not forced.The songs are great too! The music is an interesting mix of 80s New Wave ("He's So Dull"),intoxicating funk ("Nasty Girl"),electro-funk ("Make Up") and even a little early hip-hop ("If A Girl Answers (Don't Hang Up)").The lyrics are,for the most part,hilarious and outrageous.It's a fun,vibrant album.

The Apollonia 6 album,on the other hand,is simply unfocused.It opens with the absurd "Happy Birthday Mr. Christian" and gets even more silly on throwaway songs like "Ooh She She Wa Wa".Vanity was no great vocalist,but Apollonia is ten times worse.She doesn't sound convincing on the few songs where she sings lead.There are a few bright spots here ("Blue Limousine" is a gem,and "Sex Shooter" almost works),but overall,this album is a disaster.

Appolonia was just a fill in for Vanity who had one more album due Warner Brothers. She was Never Prince's type at all. She's Beautiful and all but not his type she would never have been in his life otherwise. The album is Horrible Really.

V6 is definitely more appealing. I can listen all the way through (except for 3x2=6) & there's some strong cuts on there: Nasty Girl, If A Girl Answers, He's So Dull. Brings back so many memories of that pre-PR period.

A6 has some WEAK moments but the good song they have kick ass!! A Million Miles & Some Kinda Lover are great, I'm warming up to Blue Limousine finally too...

In the end all that really matters is that BRENDA WAS ROBBED!!!

How about the song Drive Me wild on Vanity6? That was a Great song. That video is so Weird and wasn't Prince and some band members dressed up like Freaky Animals? I do think so.

I was listening to "Drive Me Wild" the other day and I turned it up real loud.My roomate came in and said "What is that?".He had never heard it before and he thought it was brilliant.That song was ahead of it's time!!

It's such a Cool song. I know you said you didn't like vanity's vocal abilities David on her Wild Animals lp but it was Meant to be Fluff. She was doing Playboy and she was like this Sex-Kitten you Know. So she didn't have to do anything but wear her see-through clothes for the guys and Purr her way through those songs which were Sexual. Vanity was Sex. She was Extremely Sexual. Pretty Mess was the Best.

Vanity 6 in a Blow Out.Apollonia 6 IMHO made Me kinda Lose Respect for Prince as a Producer.because that Singing is So bad&alot of that Material is just there for me.that kind of Project alone lets you know that Prince is a Very ShowBiz Cat.that He Explores all Elements of it.
