Renato Neto(Princes Keyboard Player I don't know if this topic has been started yet, cant find anything about it.
More and more i notice that Prince lets his Keyboardist Renato Neto play some funky riffs n solos he is brazilian, did you guys notice him or what do you think of him especially on indigo nights he plays some very nice solos and bridges or even lead parts and think he should be recognized for that, what do you think? I mean in general Princes band right now is fantastic  | |

I remember looking at that picture of the Band in the Musicology booklet and thinking how cool Renato looked. I think he's super talented and an AWESOME keyboard player and he's great on the clavinet | |

Renato is very underated. He is an excellent keyboard player and does very beautiful solos. He was very good on the Musicology tour. He reminds me of Lisa. Lisa played very beautiful chords to.But Lisa remains my favorite.I love how she attacks her notes there very haunting.  will ALWAYS think of  like a "ACT OF GOD"! N another realm. mean of all people who might of been aliens or angels.if found out that wasn't of this earth, would not have been that surprised. R.I.P. |

Yeah, i agree lisa really hits the keys, but the great thing about renato and he is very underated for it, is his ability to play any style and i mean any style. On indigo nights he played somany styles, Like on the Indigo Night song i find that a great tune he plays there | |

Oh I love Renato!
He is hot and I really dig his music. Especially the solo bits that he plays and also the "mood music" that he plays between sets etc. I wish he would release his own CD. I would buy it for sure. "Remember, one man's filler is another man's killer" -- Haystack | |

Prince's keyboard players always tend to be standouts. And is it just me, or do they actually get to play their own parts on the albums more than the other band mates? I think Renato is the best member of his current npg lineup. He really lets his presence be known. The other band mates just kind of blend in. | |

I LOVE Renato. He is probably the best technical player that Prince has ever worked with. It's interesting how when he first started, he wasn't that "funky" on songs like Controversy, DMSR, etc. However, when they did the 2nd half of the Musicology tour, he really figured out how to get his playing to get "in the pocket".
As far as Morris goes, I've never really paid that close attention to his playing. He has always been the 2nd string player as well as the sound-effects guy. I'm not saying he's not good, but I just never paid that close attention to him. **--••--**--••**--••--**--••**--••--**--••**--••-

He is the best thing that happened to Prince in the last five years. I wish he'd give the man as much space as he gave peeps like Sonny T and W&L, back in the day. |
