Sheila E.'s Bedtime Story

I love this tune. It's fucking beautiful. The entire melody arch, the sweet lyrics, the wanting.

I love it all. One of my faves of Romance 1600.

Nice tune. I only wish it were longer and included some of the musical interludes that are on Prince's rehearsal version. But it's beautiful in its simplicity, although slightly diminished by Sheila's fake crying. I love the way the song briefly visits the idea of moving far away and starting life all over and then quickly decides against it. Who hasn't had that dream?

It's nice to be able to put that next to the song, but I like the song with a female voice, actually.

Like prince version better. Wish he would have released it on his albums. He is very much in touch with the female side in his lyrics and vocals...Luv it

thumbs up!

It's a really beautiful song. I have the single for it somewhere.

The only complaint is...(don't kill me but-)...is she singing in the right key for that song???

Huey, I don't think I like it. neutral

But then I also haven't heard that darn song for at least 10 years boxed, so my opinion is pretty much uninformed and I don't exactly know what I'm talking about lol

I like honesty. I still think it is an underrated Prince/Sheila colloboration for all the reasons I stated. Love, love, love it.

I like the song but prefer "Paradise Garden" as a Prince/Sheila ballad.Even more than that I like "The World Is High".
