Apollonia's solo album It should be pretty awful (sorry apples fans), but its saved by some decent production/producers. One great thing is that her lack of voice means no ballads LOL (at least, I dont think there are any ballads?). Also it mean layers of synths and backing vox to cover them up, which means more production/mixing, which is another thing I love. Its more pop then freestyle, but it does have a latin vibe. I guess somewhat like Gloria Estefan but without the cheesy ballads. Some goods 80's poppy dance tracks like "Since I fell for you" "Am I growing on u?" "help wanted" "ay ya ya!" and my personal fav "beat of my heart". Infact, most of the album is good really. Songs like "mismatch" are poor, but its surpisenly consistant if you like that dance pop feel. Great for summer aswell. [Edited 7/14/08 22:28pm]

I like it too. It's all very derivitive, trying to sound freestyle or Jam & Lewis like, but it's fun enough.
I like the 'rap' or spoken part in 'Mismatch' it always makes me laugh for some reason when she says "when the lights goooo dooown". She sounds like a mall rat

The 'poor' "Mismatch" (lol) got redeemed via a smokin' hot club mix
from Kevin Saunderson. (anybody here know anything about Inner City?) Well, it was hot for its time anyway. There was even a bit of backwards masking inexplicably slipped in... Spooky stuff, that rock n roll music, I tells ya. You never know when is gonna pop up. break THE purple GoD

I like the album. I bought the cassette and CD when it first came out. I was a freshman in High School and thought it was really cool. I even have the 12" single to "Since I Fell For U" which is really good. It includes her cover of "These Boots Are Made For Walkin'".

There is a ballad 'In your eyes' which is my favourite off the album. The album came out in 1988 and if you like Paula Abdul's Forever Your Girl album you would probably like Apollonia's album as they have a similar vibe.
