What Prince Proteges videos!?>?>?>?>

Cna somebody please name all or at least what they know of Prince Protege videos. Weather he produced them or not doesnt matter...but have Sheila had anymore videos than Glamorus, and Time more than Jungle Love & Oak Tree?

I'm not sure if "Dance Electric" by Andre Cymone, "Bang Bang" by Brown Mark or "Are You my Baby" by Wendy and Lisa make the list?

OK, now there's a couple in this mix that I've only seen seconds of so I can't describe them entirely.

Sheila E:

Love Bizzare: basically the same footage from the Krush Groove movie interspersed with other scenes.

Koo Koo: I only saw this once and that was back when it came out in '87, so now I vaguely remember it. From what I do remember ,though, the backdrop in the scene looks like 16th century renaissance-era art. Oh yeah, Sheila is looking cool rocking the shades and singing.

The Family:

Screams of Passion: I only saw seconds of this clip, but what I saw was the band obviously performing in front of a green sceen. The background film was a beach, which cut to Jerome conducting an orchestra on an actual beach. That's all I saw.

The Time:

Jerk Out: I'm surprised you missed this one. It's been a while since I've seen this one, too. What I can recall is the first part with the two girls dialogue which you can also hear in the audio version of this song. They're outside the Pandemonium club when Morris arrives in his white Cadillac then the band performs the song there.

Jill Jones:

It was either G-spot or Mia Boca:
I only saw a very brief part of this video (which was shot in B/W with a brown tint). Our chanteuse is standing infront of a tree singing, "I have only had one lover/since I was 12 years old". That's all I saw.

Vanity 6:

Drive Me Wild:
Now I only saw a brief clip of this one too, but what I did see was the girls performing in front of that famous fence backdrop. Susan looked so cute singing her part too. That was it.

Anything else?

Cat appears in the "Koo Koo" video, dancing alongside Sheila. The video was also choreographed by Cat.

That Jill Jones video you mentioned was definitely "Mia Bocca".MTV rejected this video in early 1987,saying it was too risque or something. This apparently pissed Prince off,and he refused to give them a video for his single "Sign O'The Times'.

The Vanity 6 video "Drive Me Wild" is a CLASSIC!! It begins with Vanity and Brenda waking Susan up,and taking her out to party. We then see the three girls performing the song, and there is a long instrumental segment where they are at a party, dancing and having a ball.Prince's bodyguard Big Chick even appears in this scene!

There were a couple of Madhouse videos as well.

I think that Prince directed the Sheila E video Koo Koo.
I could be trippin' though...

I was able to get hold of the Jill Jones "Boom Boom Can you Feel the Beat of My Heart"promo vid. It took a long time to to track down mind...

I don't think the Vanity 6 promo vid for "He's So Dull" has been mentioned. I managed to get hold of that one too...

How's about Martika?

The video for "Love Thy Will Be Done" (Prince song) was great and got good airplay on MTV.

The video for "Martika's Kitchen" (also Prince) didn't do so good but it was pretty cool also. Just remember seeing a part of it with her sitting in a chair singing.

Did anyone ever see Patti LaBelle's video for "Yo Mister"? Supposedly Prince does a cameo.

Well I had to watch it again to remember what it's like... It's not that exciting really... The girls are in their album cover outfits (Brenda in pink, Susan in white and Vanity in her black coat). Basically the three just pose against a pale blue, pink and white background whilst they lip synch. The only interesting part is when a "mummy's boy" wanders on at the end of the clip and Vanity snogs him.

There also some other protege/Prince related videos which haven't yet been mentioned in this topic, which I have on tape:

Cat - Cat Woman

Sheena Easton - Sugar Walls

Wendy & Lisa - Lolly Lolly
Don't try to Tell Me
Sideshow
Waterfall
Satisfaction
Are you my Baby
Honeymoon Express
Strung Out

Elisa Fiorillo - On the way up

Jesses Johnson - Black in America

Patti Labelle - Yo Mister

Tevin Campbell - Round and Round

Oh yeah, I remember the video for Jill Jones' Mia Bocca.
It was all sepia toned with Jill wandering around near a gas station out in the desert, holding her shoes in her hands (& hitting them together every so often in time with the music). It also had lyrics from the song flying round her, in the same way that Prince would later use in his I Wish U Heaven video.

Mia Bocca was nominated for best cinemaphotography in a video at the MTV Music Awards 1987.

I love the video for Pretty Mess, Vanity is wonderfully cheap.

Koo Koo is a bit 'of it's time', looks all Cosby Show opening sequence, or Sesame Street.
