Which Jesse album is the most essential? I already own Revue (love it) and Shockadelica (love it even more).
Out of Bare My Naked Soul and Every Shade Of Love, which album is the most essential?

I REMEMBER AN INTERVIEW BACK IN THE LATE 80'S WHERE JESSE WAS TALKING ABOUT MAKING A "ROCK ALBUM", BUT THE POWERS THAT BE AT A & M WEREN'T HAVING IT!!!!! I CAN'T WAIT UNTIL "VERBAL PENETRATION" IS AVAILABLE!!!!! THAT'S THE NEW JESSE CD THAT'S "IN THE CAN"!!!!!

Absolutely. Lovestruck and I'm Just Wanting You are classics (the latter is truly amazing). That said, I have to agree that 'Bare My Naked Soul' is the one to get (and it is getting harder to find). Be forewarned, it is totally different than Jesse's previous three albums. This one is very rock/blus oriented. If you like Jesse's guitar work, you will love it. And actually, I think it is the most lyrically impressive material he has ever written. - JD

Love those two songs, but love the other album more over all That power trio of him, Bean and Terry that's hanging out in Vegas is something to behold [Edited 6/28/08 10:07am]

The first album is most essential IMO if you want that MPLS sound. Of the 3 80s albums though, it's probably the most expensive to find on CD.

I adore 'Every Shade Of Love' and 'Shockadelica'.
I haven't tracked down "Revue' or 'Bare My Naked Soul' as of yet. |

I love his 80's LP's but "B.M.N.S" is the shit. Straight from the Jimi school. "Brand New Day" is my fave and "War Babies" is reminiscent of Sly.
Any word on when "Verbal Penetration" is coming out?

Have bought both of the two albums I didn't own.
Is there any funk on BMNS?

"BMNS" is more rock/blues than funk, but it has it's funky moments. Kinda like when Jimi gets funky on "Power Of Soul" or "Izabella".
