Just saw a report here in Los Angeles (KCAL 9) of Eminem's 8 Mile movie and at the premiere they showed Apollonia saying to the reporter that she thinks he's a musical genius, and a creative genius. Caught on camera.

If I ever meet her again, I'm calling her on that.

Funny though that when they showed that one dude from Friends (brown haired, big faced one...forgot his name) TV show, said he didn't like it and when asked if he liked rap, he firmly said, "NO!"...!

You take what he says seriously I first heard him and couldn't stop laughing there's no way he is serious. The fact everyone takes what he says seriously and get bent out of shape is the kicker. He's laughing all the way to the bank you all. He even tells you he's joking on the songs. But you don't hear him though.He is clever though he just says out loud what some people think but would never say in this politically correct world we have now. I have to say he isn't afraid to let you see he is human. The boys got issues and he's out there. And stuff you see are the ones I am talking about. He's got some daddy things there. Some Possible Abandonment things. But very funny a sick sense of humor. People could never get past Tupac's language to get the message. They miss the point.

I guess it´s called provocative humor
And it is funny, Eminem is a master in makin un of social issues in a veru self ironical way
And as I´ve read and heard some of his interviews I´ve understood that he is making fun of issues that matter to him.
Well, actually he says usually smth like that people should decide themself, when/if he is joking and when/if he is serious and so on.

I can not relate to his lyrics 100% due living in absolutely different environment, maybe 8Mile helps me to understand better, but I think his rhymes+ speed of his rapping+ production in general makes it a great package.

And puts me in a good mood too, giving couple (or even more) of laughs

Only people that have lived the life can get it. Detroit used to be the murder capital of the U.S. for a long time. Now I think Gary has the crown. People dying everyday for no reason and everyone is more concerned about a few curse words. It is very Ironic.

I think that is why so many people misunderstood Tupac. He spent alot of time in Compton California. If you have never been there it's sad. It is a paradine I guess you can see symbols of sucess. all around this neighborhood. Near Movie studios they can see stars on their way to make movies. But be in the poorest community in the state the only dream was to live long enought to celebrate another birthday.Tupac called woman whores because there most of the women were prostitutes. He stuck with what he knew about. So many people took offense with his language. In the 1980's Compton had gotten so bad that you were stopped by police you know you are now entering compton right. Okay at your own risk. They'd let you through the baracdes.Now how bad does it have to get when the police are afraid to go in to a neighborhood. To Serve and To Protect. Who those that have money. Only those that pay taxes who? No one got Tupac? I respect Authority but the LAPD are nothing more then a gang with nicer clothes and a bigger budget.

be it you Love or Loath Eminem He is the Pulse of the Ear right now as we speak.Rappers have the most Powerful Instrument&that is there Voice&how it is used can go so many ways depending on your tastes.I don't think much of Eminem Personally, but I understand why He is living large.

I have tried 2 avoid posting anything negative in relation 2 artists and the art they create (i.e. music), but I couldn't help but cast my views in2 the gr8 void:

I don't like Eminem!

He is very talented, I must confess 2 that. It's obvious. I don't necessarily think he's a genius, however.

He's got a lot of negativity in his music and he's got a lot of rage inside. Perhaps that's what fuels his talent and gives it that edge or flavour..who knows.

He has got talent, that's undeniable. But a genius?
I don't believe so.

Respect 2 him and his music but I don't like the dude.
