Wednesday Like a River - Sheila E I just wanted to give a shout about this song. Was listening to Sheila's self-titled 3rd (and very underrated) album today and forgot how much I love this song. Very cool and breezy tune. Screams spring/summer to me for some reason.
Whatcha y'all think about this forgotten gem?

yep, you nailed it. I always liked this song. That album was nice to have that Summer with SOTT & W+L's debut! Damn, I gonna pop that rekkid on right now! "Hyperactive when I was small, Hyperactive now I'm grown, Hyperactive 'till I'm dead and gone"

No, silly, it's about losing her virginity. Apparently it was quite a gusher.

In all seriousness, I think it's about the rush of feelings and emotional attachment that can come after sex, especially after the first time you have sex. She lost her virginity on a Tuesday and by Friday the floodgates of emotion had opened. Years later, she's reflecting on how she doesn't do that anymore and she has learned to never play anyone's fool or lover for long.
That's just my interpretation of this song. It's definitely one of my favorites on the album.

That's just my interpretation of this song. It's definitely one of my favorites on the album. Definitely a better interpretation than the previous posts. Those were getting nasty. Still a great song.
