Mark Brown was really the only Bassist 4 Prince that could lay down the "Minneapolis Bass", and capture Prince's own feel in the bass lines.
Rhonda came close. Sonny had a different style altogether. So did Levi. Josh is just solid in his own right... and versatile. "He's a musician's musician..."

Yep. I myself have said this very thing a million times on here. Loads of folks on here don't ever give Mark his props on here. I just chalk it up to the fact that many on here seems to not be that familiar with Prince's material pre ATWIAD. SynthiaRose said "I'm in love with blackguitaristz. Especially when he talks about Hendrix."

I just chalk it up to the fact that many on here seems to not be that familiar with Prince's material pre ATWIAD. That is likely the reason. I would pick Mark Brown as my personal favourite Bassist with P just based on that. Also, Mico was my fav guitarist, because his funk was right on with the feel. "He's a musician's musician..."
