Morris Day.....The drummer???? Ok we all know that Morris is the COOLEST MF ever, but I wonder how were his drumming skills? I THOUGHT I remembered an old Prince interview where he was talking about a "perfect" band and he mentioned he'd have Morris on drums...Also, isn't it Morris on drums on Cloreen Baconskin? Cuz ain't nobody bad...Like Me!!!!

Morris is the drummer on all the Time songs. Prince programmed the drum machine for 777-9311 though. He also did the drums for Party Up, Irresistible Bitch and New Power Generation. [Edited 5/15/08 17:08pm]

The thing is, in order to tell, you'd have to have something you know for sure is Morris playing drums to compare to, so then you could say, oh yeah this is Morris on drums. So unless you know for sure it was Morris on the1st 2 Time albums, what are youc omparing it to? Did you ever hear MOrris on drums live or something? Plus, Prince is good at copying people's styles. There's been many disucssions on here on one of the Time Cuts (Jungle Love?) where Prince purposely plays a guitar solo in the style of Jesse in order to mimic him and make it seem like it was Jesse on the album.

I'm guessing it's been posted here before, but I came across this picture a while back on the Minnesota Historical Society's site that shows (barely) Prince, Morris on drums and Andre.

That's Jesse on Jungle Love, the track I think you're referring to is 777-9311. There have been a few discussions in the past of how Prince edited/erased parts of the "Jungle Love" solo without giving Jesse the courtesy of a heads up.

Prince said in an interview for Drum mag.(?) that Morris was his biggest drumming influence growing up. Morris is Funky. The perfect band Prince mentioned in the Chris Rock interview named Michael Bland as his drummer of choice. It is Prince on the kit on Cloreen Baconskin doing a Morris like voice.

That's Morris on drums, Prince playing bass. I'm sick and tired of the Prince fans being sick and tired of the Prince fans that are sick and tired!
