Vanity's solo career Just wondering, for those who know, did Vanity ever do live shows or tour with her solo material from either "Wild Animal" or "Skin on Skin"?
If she did, did any of y'all go to her shows? How were they? thanks! | |

I don't think she did a proper tour for either of those albums,but I do recall a promo tour in late 1984 when 'Wild Animal' was released.I think she appeared at small clubs and performed a few songs from the album. | |

I've seen a clip of Vanity on "Solid Gold" on Youtube and I think she sang "Wild Animal" and I have a tape of her on "Soul Train" where she sang "Faraway Eyes" and "Undress Me." It was actually pretty good, and entertaining.  [Edited 4/12/08 16:09pm] I love a Man who:

Unfortunately, a lot of Vanity clips have been taken down...I've seen all the other youtube clips you mentioned of her tv performances. Thanks SoulAlive. I was just wondering about any possible shows/tours, because I know her albums and songs were never major hits. So far, the only live concert/show clip I've seen of Vanity is a live "Nasty Girl" performance from Prince's 1999 tour that gets uploaded/taken off youtube repeatedly. It's worth checking out for anyone that hasn't seen it! She really got the crowd going with her "moves" lol. Brenda and Susan were great too. I'm hoping someone out there went to a live solo Vanity show, taped it, and will one day post it on youtube... | |
