THE WHOLE LP IS BANGIN'.....NOT A WEAK TRACK ON IT!!!!! I EVEN HAVE THE 12" OF "PLAYER'S BALL"!!!!! I'VE SEEN FOOTAGE OF THEIR SHOW IN SAN FRAN ON YOUTUBE AND THEY WERE SMOKIN' LIVE!!!!! THEY NEVER MADE IT TO BUFFALO, THE SHOW GOT CANCELLED. MAN, WAS I READY TO GO!!!! AND JUST LIKE THE TIME, THEY WOULDA KICKED PRINCE'S ASS ALL OVER THE STAGE. EVEN THOUGH HE HAD 'EM DRESSED LIKE MADEA!!!!! 
ONE OTHER THING- I JUST ADDED TONY CHRISTIAN TO MY MYSPACE PAGE!!!!!  Yeah, I have the 12' of Players. I went and saw them at The Palace in the summer of 86. That was when I first met Andre. He was sitting over in the lounge area with this fine honey. It would be 9 years before our paths crossed again. He remembered me too. Anyway, MZ was rocking it, musically anyways. Terry's voice was weak as hell though. So much so that they didn't play my other favorite cut "Strawberry Lover". But the place was PACKED. I remember seeing this cat nemed Jak at the show. He was walking around out front of the club. Pacing back and forth. His album had just came out. It was titled "I Go Wild" on Epic. Cool album except for the fact that all of the songs sounded like bites from P songs circa Conroversy and 1999. Folks were ready for something like MZ though. Just if they had a better singer with better range, they would have been great live. Cuz the musicians were on it. Romeo was another Brown Mark. He was PERFECT. Prince should have gotten him to play in his band when Mark bounced instead of Levi, I think. I wish Mark would have stayed on through Signs & Lovesexy. Then he could have bounced when Fink left. Z do you have a blog spot? You really should have one. I would read that joint everyday | |
