P's best band (his line up) was the 1981-83 with Dez and Brown Mark. And of course the o.g. lineup of The Time. Also 1981-83.

co-sign. they had a great blend of the things i like. all of them were strong players and unique but not bland like the SOT band. the early one still had their edge.

His music was tighter and had way more edge then. He really should call the old troops and give it a go

Do you mean a band that played/backed Prince? Or a band that Prince wrote music for?

The former: Lovesexy yes

The latter: The Time

I loved all of Prince's bands. To what extent Prince's involvement is right now I'm not certain. But i do know tha he's had some input with The New Congress recently. This band is a unique group of geniuses in their own right. They display the tight precision that would be necessary for any powerful backup band for Prince dancing jig
Saw them again last night cool and this has to be one of the finest, fine tuned bands anywhere. For hours these guys, played dozens of songs of various sounds. Truly phenomenal. They fill the room with amazing jazzy, jamming, Funk. They play every Thursday nite at Bunker's in MPLS.
The legendary Michael Bland is filling in on drums while Barry Alexander is on the road with Johnny Lang.

"The New Congress consists of 6 individually talented musicians that merge their creativity together to create the most innovative and exciting sound that anyone has heard. It's a blend of jazz, hip hop, pop and rock. The members of TNC have each held their own on the music scene before coming together as a band, and together, they are undeniable!!!" And I'll vouch for that!!

AARON "ORANGE" COSGROVE (Vocals / Guitar / Songwriter) (Unbelievable voice and on guitar)

RUSS KING (Keyboards / Background Vocals) (excellent waves and imagination on keys and backup)

DJ DUDLEY D (Turntables / Background Vocals) (the backgroud that keeps the band clicking like a fine tuned clock)

ANDY MARK (Bass / Background Vocals) (deep bass and melodic vocals)

MANNY FRESH (Congas / Percussion / Bass) (poppin and jamming)

BARRY ALEXANDER (Drums) (perfect beat and unison)

guitar headbang music
