Tony Lemans

After finding some old posts here, I gave this album another listen. It is actually quite good (though alittle dated with all the drum programming). Tony's lyrics and layering of vocals was outstanding. He clearly had talent, but I too wonder if he would have ever been successful under the Paisley Park label -- with their poor marketing. I am sure, eventually, he would have excelled elsewhere. It is unfortunate we never got the chance to find out.

My high school sweet heart had the CASSINGLE (gasp!) eek I listened to til the sound went out. I downloaded recently from his myspace page. That is a song that will never get its full due.

Tony fought too much with Prince. I doubt he would have found any real success at Paisley Park. So few artists have.

Those who are truly talented resist the type of control that people like Prince like to have (not unlike the way he resisted it).
