Sheila E. & Gloria Estefan I remember when Gloria first "rediscovered" her Latin roots (musically) with "Mi Tierra" and feeling elated that she tapped Sheila E. for the album.
I just now found out that they pared up again for Gloria's last album, with Sheila joining legends Carlos Santana and Jose Feliciano on the summertime song "NO LLORES". (check for a glimpse of Sheila at 1:07 and a spotlight beginning at 2:33...) Awesome song!

i too, was excited to find Sheila on the liner notes for Mi Tierra. my sister used to listen to that all the time when it came out. also, with the flat hair, single color outfit, pimp hat & funky shoes, Gloria kinda resembles Prince!  http://elmadartista.tumblr.com/ http://twitter.com/madartista | |

I actually saw the video documentary at the time on the making of the album, and Sheila had a nice part (if I recall correctly). I bought 90 Millas yesterday. AWESOME!!! I really, really am digging "me Odio" and "Morenita". Definitely a must-have for anyone that appreciates Cuban music.By St. Boogar and all the saints at the backside door of Purgatory! | |
