Sheena Easton

I might have to ask my dad about this one, but for some reason, one of the albums in his large collection was "The best of Sheena Easton".

Since she had worked with Prince a couple of times, I figured it couldn't hurt to take it back to school with me and give it a listen.

Some good stuff there. She's got a really good voice cool that's probably why my dad got the CD in the first place (he has Olivia-Newton John in his collection as well).
I recognized a couple of them, but I think its because I watch 80's videos on VH1 Classic. And my ears must be getting sharper because I'm picking out different keyboards and drums.

Of course, Sugar Walls, I was highly interested in hearing. I had seen the video for that as well on VH1 Classic one random morning, but it couldn't hurt hearing it again.

I was waiting for it and waiting... its track 8 out of 10 on this. But when I heard the opening, I recognized Prince's sound right away. The keyboards (which actually remind me of what he did 10+ years later in "Strange but True"). I had the lyrics in front of me and the whole time, I was shaking my head in disbelief. You could spot it as a Prince song a million miles away.

Can't deny its catchy, but haha, boy is it dirty. evillol

nod Prince picked a good voice to give that song to.

And yes, she's is HOT on "U Got the Look" too. cool
had 2 run away... pride was 2 strong. It started raining, baby, the birds were gone

One of my favorites as well. Also dug "The Lover In Me" album & "What Comes Naturally" album.

Those 2 back to back... nice.

Wowugotit

Sheena Easton, in my opinion, was one of the best pop singers in the music industry from the early 80's through the mid 90's. I found her versatility and vocal stylings VERY alluring. Sheena only worked with the best producers and studio musicians of the day and racked up several top 10 singles and hit albums between the years 1981-1991.
