I completely missed your point. I'm sure u had one.

um- you KNOW Prince and you KNOW that W&L had no influence because you don't like them. Is that NOT what you re saying?

Plain English: W&L are 2 below average musicians that added NOTHING 2 Prince's musical game. Regardless of the politically correct things that are being said about them. Was that CLEAR enough.

go it wink

So that whole "knowing" Prince thing was just your attempt at making your OPINION seem more valid than everyone else?
THAT was what I was trying to clarify. I got your OPINION way back on page one. It just seemed as though you had some insider proof from the way you presented your statements.

Politically correct?

If that is your take on it. Everyone here has ONLY an opinion. No opinion is more valid than the next. I'm simply sharing mine. Rather u agree or not is up 2 u. I'm not mad either way.

hey.. we were doing so well on this thread .... agreeing to disagree and respecting each other. hopefully we can keep that up.

I think calling W&L "below average" is a bit strange, but hey, everyone's entitled to his/her opinion.

Though, as I think about it, I guess that in term of "live performance" W&L could be considered average or "below" compared others P has worked with.

As composers though, they really shined (helping write or writing some of the hits).

Moreover, their professoinal career since hsa been focused on composing/scoring which makes sense, given what I said above.

funny...you say everyone is entitled to their opinion, but then you add "pro" musicians have a giggle at the poor talentless girls. I work with pro musicians all the time and when the subject of Prince and associated artists come around many of them express desire to work with them and how cool they think it is that they have kept such a high (award winning) profile in the film and tv industry.

SO I guess the laugh-fest depends on WHAT pro musicians right??? lol
And how PRO they are...wink.
I will say that one of them I know who has said that very thing about W&L (and St.Paul too) is considered the BEST worldwide by many at his given instrument. Does that make him more valid? I don't think so - but it does strengthen my thoughts.

I'm with you on everyone entitled to their opinion but you seem to keep (imo) trying to "prove" your take with each post. I'm not mad either. Just questioning what appeared to be an insiders look at their influence. Now I know it's not.

I wasn't trying to play it. Just making an observation that you can find good or bad opinions on someone from anyone...including a sampling of pros in their given field. I assume that was the "game" you referred to.
