Sananda Maitreya has a funny Prince story on his site Every male Prince fan has been through this experience at least once right?
Found toward the end of the page: http://www.sanandamaitrey...8_2007.htm I can recall in the army barracks of Fort Sill, Oklahoma, having in my dorm room, shared with 2 other soldiers, a poster of Prince (the almost nude shower one from ‘Controversy’), and one of Springsteen from his ‘The River’ project. I had to fight to preserve my heterosexual honour after it was assumed that anyone with half a naked man, and a white boy on his wall was some sort of freak. I explained that I was a musician. I actually took a punch on Bruce’s behalf. (I may have later taken a few more, but that is for the book). Has fan ship any greater love than would take a punch for their favourite artists? I told the Maestro Prince later, of the heat I took for him in the military. He laughed. …from what I have learned from him, I would take it all over again. | |

naw ..i gave that poster away 2 my girlfriend at the time ..no way was i hanging that picture on my wall man, he has such an amazing body of music that it's sad to see him constrict it down to the basics. he's too talented for the lineup he's doing. estelle 81 | |

I had the "Gold" poster, the one where Prince's eyelids were down and he had on eyeshadow. I could never live that down. | |

Yeah....I gave that "Controversy" poster to the FINEST girl in my 7th grade class in '81.....Niccole Stewart!!!!!

He also sang a small part of a TTD/SM song during an aftershow, I think it was "If You Let Me Stay"  .With a very special thank you to Tina: Is hammer already absolute, how much some people verändern...ICH hope is never so I will be!
