slightly off topic...
When I was in 1st and 2nd grade the school bus driver would bump "Cool", Cameo's "Shake Your Pants", the whole Off The Wall album in heavy rotation, "Genius of Love", "Another One Bites The Dust", random Kool and the Gang cuts, Candi Staton's "Victim", and the Diana album. I'm sick and tired of the Prince fans being sick and tired of the Prince fans that are sick and tired!

No, the fool who continued to work for him for another 5 years. and fought to properly receive proper credit until hey actually gave it? and once again, lets not dismiss that prince submitted the song...what's the justification for him for not being truthful at the time he submitted it? what a pathetic display of manhood...lets narrow down the discussion and discuss that one specific act...filling out the paperwork, what the f*ck was he thinking? I remember when Get it up first heard it on radio...I knew Prince had something to do with it....the music and sound was classic dirty Prince. The instrumentation was Prince at his funky best back then. The song was a Prince song with Morris vocals dubbed in...Morris vocals was the only thing on that song that wasn't Prince. I remember buying the 45 the day it was released and looking for any clue of Prince in the credits. Only clue was Jamie Star a name I remember as the enginer for Dirty Mind.. I knew way back then that Jamie Starr was Prince it was so obvious. The picture of The Time on the cover with Morris up front looking similar to Prince had everyone saying Morris was Prince brother.I was kinda always shock to hear that song on the radio. To me it was so nasty even nastier than Head back then. But Prince had a way with words that made U think. But not believe what he was really saying.. Soon the album The Time was released....even though it was only six songs the songs were so long. It made u feel like it had 10 songs. I agree the funkiest album Prince did was that first Time album nothing compares to that sound back then...U can just imagine Prince in the studio working those instruments to death for hours. while listening to that record. I miss those days will ALWAYS think of like a "ACT OF GOD"! N another realm. mean of all people who might of been aliens or angels.if found out that wasn't of this earth, would not have been that surprised. R.I.P.

No, the fool who continued to work for him for another 5 years. I bet you blame abuse victims to,eh? and yeah - I'm comparing working for an egomaniac like being the victim of abuse. Similar reason why you don't leave- always the promise of the right thing being done "next time".

The Scene was the SHIT! That show had some great dancers. Get It Up actually debuted in Detroit on the Electrifying Mojo Show in Aug. 1981. Some of the members of The Time (I forgot which ones) went to WGPR and gave Mojo the song personally. Once Mojo started playing it, it caught like wildfire. I just went on YouTube and checked out some video footage from "The Scene".It brought back so many memories!! I may start a thread about that show.

I would not blame a victim of physical abuse unless the abuse has been going on for years. At what point do you not use commonsense and leave. I am not going to address this nosense with P being an egomanic to work with. I have not worked with him but, I have worked for some nutcakes in my time. I solved the problem by finding employment elsewhere. Some of you need to get off of the W&L bullshit. P gave these chicks the spotlight and they have been riding it for over 20 fucking years. Shit they just finished fucking up the PE cd with him this year. I find it hard to believe that he so hard for them to work with when they keep coming back. It is really all about the $$$

Lisa I think, will always feel a closeness to P. I think she cares about him, as a person. She's known Prince very well for many, many years. And she knew P before he was a star. I think that's why, more than anything, P continues to work with them, is because of Lisa. Just my belief. SynthiaRose said "I'm in love with blackguitaristz. Especially when he talks about Hendrix."
