the example of Larry Graham Well people here are always talking about whether JW is good or bad for Prince's music, but can anyone tell me when Larry became a Jehovah's Witness. Was he always one even when he was with Sly? Is that what made him quit the group? I know Larry made a couple of albums after becoming a JW, but then it seemed his creativty stopped dead. What has he done since the 70s? It definitely seems like JW was not good for him. | |

Most of what you say or speculate on is inaccurate "Upon the Family Stone's disintegration due to lead singer Sly Stone's drug addiction, Graham formed his own band, Graham Central Station" "In 1975, Graham became a member of the Jehovah's Witnesses. In the early 1980s, Graham recorded five solo albums and had several solo hits. His biggest hit was "One in a Million, You", which reached number 9 on the Billboard chart in 1980". Graham is on record as saying that that the drug-fuelled paranoia and culture within the group resulted in a his life being under threat - a basic factor in leaving the group was his own mental health and safety. http://en.wikipedia.org/w...rry_Graham .
