That would be nice and sweet if they were to see each other again. I think it's a pity that Miss Denise Matthews is too old for Prince. He needs to get out of that way of thinking. I mean, women have mind(s) of their own the same as him. I don't know what happened to him to cause him to be so controlling. It must have been some type of trauma he'd undergone.
Whatever the reason, I wish both Prince and Miss Denise Matthews well in whatever paths they choose.

wlcm2thdwn, thanks so much for posting this! Very interesting read. Here's what I drew from the article:

1) Again, mixed messages about the book. First it was supposed to be "Blame it on Vanity", then she changed it to the "The Black Box", and now she's incorporating both titles...also, the ever-changing release date has been pushed back to "hoping for early next year".

2) So Nikki Sixx, Billy Idol (when did she date him???), Adam Ant and Anthony Smith won't even be mentioned in her book? I hope she at least says a little something about each of them, as they were parts of her life.

Especially Nikki Sixx, to who she was engaged in '87. If anyone here has read "The Dirt" and "The Heroin Diaries", he/she would know that Nikki Sixx and Vanity had a big impact on each other's lives.

Without all these ex-lovers, what will Matthews discuss in her book? Only drugs, her family situation and her transformation? I was hoping for details...

3) According to the article, Matthews lives alone with 5 cats (Cat Lady!!). On her website in the scrapbook, there are pictures of her with a man who she was obviously involved with at the time of the photo and a dog. In one of the captions I think she even calls the guy "hubby"...Of course, we don't know how old the photo is, but it looks like it's from the mid-90's. Either way, I figured if he was included in her scrapbook, he must have been important to her.

I even heard a rumor that she was remarried to a younger man after her divorce from the football player, but I guess that's either not true, or it was another quickie.

Also, I find it interesting that she has sworn off men and sex.

4) Maybe time does heal old wounds after all? Her tone in this article regarding Prince is so different than in her previous interviews. In earlier interviews, she always made it sound like she had either little or no contact with Prince, and wished to keep it that way. Now, she almost seems to be longing for him, and said they have spoken on the phone. Maybe the two of them apologized for how they treated each other?

This is just wishful thinking, but it would be really cool if they got back together...

The only man she ever truly loved? Wow, I never got that impression from her before!

Oh PS I was really shocked when I read that allegedly Vanity slept with the director of Purple Rain Albert Magnoli? about 4 months before shooting started, Prince went mad apparently - well you can imagine!!

I'm beginning to wonder if it was this book or another source - so I'd better change the above to 'allegedly' for the moment. I definitely read it somewhere though, because I wouldn't just make it up!!!!

What an interesting read! I have mad respect for Evangelist Denise Matthews. It takes alot of courage, humility and honesty in one self to bare your soul like that. She's been through so much and God has brought her through, allowing her to be a testimony for others. I also sensed that she longs for Prince and admitted that he was the only man she ever truly loved. She even went so far as to say that maybe God would supernaturally hook them up and how she would love to see his face. She goes on to say that she's been praying for Prince for a very long time and how she believes he's praying for her. God does supernatural things because He's able. All of this leads me to believe that there has and always will be a very special place in her heart for Prince. Timing is everything! They were not ready for each other 20 years ago. They were too full of themselves, too wild and fast, but after 20 years of trials, tribulations, marriages, divorces they have come back to the beginnning. He does not have children and neither does she. What a beautiful reunion it would be! I'm sure this article will get back to Prince. The ball is in his court now!

And I agree with the thought that it took a lot of courage, humility, and honesty for her to write her book and to make those changes in her life. Sometimes life is tough and takes something extreme to happen in one's life to make one wake up to realize that living a crazy life is pointless and empty. At least now she's a step in the right direction.

I guess she and Prince will always have that connection or friendship and now have mended their relationship, but I'm sad to hear how she longs for him hoping to hook up again.

Yes I believe more now that they are meant to be together or have unfinished business. I do hope there is a reunion.
