I'm always raving about the Mazarati album and this song is a reason why. It's a nice, mellow ballad from a flawless debut album with no filler.

BrownMark did a superb job with this album. He kept it tight and funky,at a time when Prince was starting to concentrate on making "artsy" music.

BrownMark discovered this band in 1984 and at first,he kept it a secret from Prince lol He didn't want Prince to find out about them and "take over" the project. When Prince did find about them,he originally offered them several songs ("Kiss","Jerkout") but fortunately,BrownMark was still able to be the primary producer.BrownMark later complained about their androgynous look, which he felt distracted from the music."Prince made them dress like that,he made them wear those clothes".

The funny thing about their wardrobe is that not too much later, Poison came around and hit it big, despite the fact that they were in drag on the cover of "Look What the Cat Dragged In." The world was ready to accept Poison as women.

Have you guys seen the concert Mazarati and Sheila did? It's tight.

Many on here know how I feel about Mazarati. Cool song. I favor I Guess It's All Over though. But yeah, this album kicked the shit out of P's ATWIAD AND Parade in my opinion.

"I Guess It's All Over" music

I always treated her right
and my feelings for her were so strong
She made it with my friend
he's like my brother thick and thin
I cannot take a chance on it happening again
I thought our love was kinda strong
but I guess I was wrong...

This was one of my favs.....But "I Guess It's All Over" was a quiet storm favorite here in St. Louis, MO.....I did'nt know he wrote Strawberry Lover" Another one of my favs also....The whole project smoked from front 2 back.....Mazarati was on to something or should i say Brownmark, I would have loved to have heard tracks from Mersadies...the female mazarati band i am told!

Yeah, Strawberry Lover went back to early 83. I haven't heard anything from Mersadies.

Yep,I definitely remember hearing about Mercedes. It was supposed to be tbe female version of Mazarati.A bunch of talented female musicians playing a combination of funk and rock.Sounded like an interesting concept.
