In a recent interview with Nicole Richie, she mentioned something about her adoptive parents (Lionel and Brenda) discovering her as a toddler dancing on stage at a Prince concert. So I wondered why she was there, and later heard that as a child Prince bought Nicole a puppy. I was doing some searching and found that Nicole biological father is Peter Michael Escovedo (Sheila E.'s brother). He was a percussionist for Lionel Richie, and somehow Nicole ended up with Lionel.
I don't know if this is common knowledge and i'm the last to find out, but just wanted 2 share.

PaisleyStarr, if you do a search in this forum you should be able to find some threads about it to give you all the info you want. I think there was one that discussed Nicole's birth mother. But to make a long story short, Sheila was Lionel Richie's drummer and Lionel and his wife became friends of Sheila's family. I never heard the puppy story, but maybe Nicole just didn't want to get into the details in a public forum.

Most of the time, people get their business put in the rag mags when the poor family members "sell" their story for $$. Fortunately for Nicole and Lionel Ritchie, no one has been hard up to sell them out to the rags.

Not sure about Nicole's birth mother... but the Escovedo family are obviously respectful and discreet.

Ritchie's family are not in need of cash either. When Ritchie's younger children (Nicole's half siblings by Diana) grow up and may need $$ maybe that secret will hit the rags... but somehow I doubt it. Nicole maybe a has been by then, Sheila E and family may remain on the B list for hollywood gossip etc.
