Tamar Davis in Houston November 17th

Houston based Grammy Nominated Artist and Prince Pal Tamar Davis has announced plans to perform at the 6th annual Giving Thanks concert along with Collective Hallucination and Chamillitary/Universal Motown Recording Artist Tony Henry on November 17th.

The buzz is building as some of the best talent in Houston comes together to raise money for the famed Texas Children's Hospital.

Ant Boogie of Collective Hallucination who started the Giving Thanks benefit concerts 6 years ago says he's thrilled to have his friends Tamar and Tony Henry join the movement to help raise money for such a worthy cause.

"This might be the most exciting and successful year for the Giving Thanks concert yet! My band is definately hyped and right!" When asked if we could expect to see Tamar perform with Collective Hallucination all Ant Boogie would say is "you have to come to the show and find out."

Tamar was nominated along with Prince in 2006 for a Grammy for the song "Beautiful Loved and Blessed" from Prince's 3121 disc. Tamar has toured the world with Prince and is working on her debut cd which will be available in early 2008.

Tony Henry, a native of Crockett, Texas, has recently signed a recording deal with Chamillionaire and Universal/Motown Records. Look for his debut cd sometime in 2008.

Collective Hallucination has been blazing a trail in Texas and Florida with their original brand of funk/soul/jazz/rock since 1999. The band was nominated in 2006 and 2007 for best funk band with the Houston Press. They are currently in the studio working on two cds, scheduled for release summer 2008 and spring 2009.

For more information on the great artist please visit their MySpace sites and feel free to send a friend request!

I was just about to ask.
I am convinced Beyonce's career would not be where it is, if she had dark skin.

Unfortunately, Tamar had business to attend to in LA and could not make the show. However, Collective Hallucination was in RARE form. Excellent show!

Tamar's parents, Nolan and Carolyn, did come. Nolan called Tamar on the phone, and my daughter spoke to her. Tamar was sorry she couldn't attend but sent her best wishes.

The video for "X Friend" is in post-production. Her CD will drop next year. She's playing at an AIDS benefit in Houston on January 12th at the Hilton Americas hotel. She's also headed to Switzerland for a week of shows early next year.

There you go!
