chelsea rodgers the video is on... your thoughts?

I think it's awful. It is absolutely all over the place. Who...or what...is it supposed to be about? It isn't about Prince. It isn't about Shelby. And who the hell is Chelsea Rodgers? Why am I supposed to care about her? The video doesn't support the song, at all -- except for the model part, which I don't think is the real point of the song. At least, the lyrics hint at some depth to the woman beyond just wearing clothes. But that doesn't get fleshed out, at all, in the video.
Frankly, I'd rather have seen straight footage of the collection (by that poor guy whose show they stole and used as a backdrop) than this mess. Of course, maybe he's just another contrivance of Prince's. The whole thing is just...lazy. It's the laziest video I've ever seen him do, I think. We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. Eh, for a video it's alright. Just too much hype for very little return. Still can only guess who she is in the scheme of things, so on that I'm disenchanted and bored. | |

Nice song, nothing more. Very mainstream.
The first thought that entered my mind when I saw "Go to www.chelsearodgers.com" on the 3121 web page was: "Gee, Prince has a daughter! Since his name is Prince Rodgers Nelson. Maybe she was conceived when he was about 33 which would make the girl 15-16 today since Prince is 49 years old." Those exact thoughts. Seems I was wrong. 
A model is she? Can't be - she's way too short. But sure pretty. The whole thing seems very strange to me but Prince is no stranger to introducing new young women to the music industry. [Edited 11/17/07 6:38am] | |

You know, the first time I heard Chelsa Rodgers, I immeadiately thought of that woman from America's Next Top Model who was a staunch Christian. They were on a photo shoot and the women had to wear a bathing suit. This woman threw a hissy fit from hear to next year. She was politely excused from the show. Not before chewing out the Lesbian and calling one of the black women a hootchie. So perhaps, Prince is giving daps to her.
The video annoys me. I keep waiting for the Donatella Versace (sp?) logo to pop up. _________________________________________
