Apollonia's cab fare So I watched PR for the first time in YEARS, and was wondering... Why didnt Appolonia just pay for her cab fare? She had a huge wad of cash. It was only like $37 and some change. What do you think was the reason the script was written to have her skip out on paying? Its not consistant to her part through the rest of the movie.

Doug my view: she was unemployed at the time- that $ might have 2 lasted her 4 a long time naughty apples skipping out on cab fares- they have 2 feed their families 2 seems that i was busy doing something close to nothing, but different than the day before

It was because the driver was George Harrison.

She could not afford the fare. She only had enough for the hotel.

Damn you counted it?
It looked like way more than $37 to me. It was probably all the money she had. She still needed to get a place , y'know. How come the Kid ain't let her crash in his lil basement room? It ain't like his parents would have even noticed. I wanna go back and watch it so I can count the money. That would be a really cool little movie factoid. 'How much money is Apollonia holding in the opening of the film?'

Cab Fare: $37.75.
Her money; I counted at least $50 in visible identifiable dollars. Plus a bunch of hidden ones. that was fun.

Doug I think her role was consistent. She told the Kid she was there to "try her luck in the biz" She had to go to a pawn shop to buy her new love his favorite guitar . . .She jumped on the "enemy" bandwagon (Morris) to get ahead . . . so yeah, I'd say her role was well written that she was a broke-down pipe-dreamin' love-struck chic

she wouldnt have be able to get a room plus burger king and weed...AND have money for that cab fare.

Because in the movie it was more fun and added a bit of rama if she just made a run for it, don't you know about humor?!

Doug It was a cinematic tool to establish her desperation - she was desperate to get the First Avenue from New Orlenas because she saw it as a way to make it big in show business. The audience knows before anything is said that she is a desperate stranger on a mission.
