I've seen Sheila up close within the past year and she looks good, like a real human being. There are lots of possible reasons for this photo--being almost 50, of course; lack of sleep and/or water; it's blown up a lot, which it shouldn't have been; and the fact that it's a bad photo. It's mean or incompetent of the photographer to get up so close and then release it. This looks more like the work of a stalkerazzi hack than a real photographer.

I've seen pictures like that of 19 years olds after a full night of partying and no sleep.

Anyone can take a bad picture...Sheila is beautiful and aging very well IMHO.

unfortunately the airbrush makeup does that..it does dry the eye area and then shows the lines much more....the make up artist shouldnt have airbrushed her around so much.....

Isn't this from the red carpet for the Alma Awards? Her under eye are did look strange during that performance. Something was off with her makeup that night.

Could be. Looks like the earring are the same. Don't photographers at those things usually try to take flattering photos of all the people coming in? I just think it was mean for that photo to be released at all.

How should a person look going on 50 years? I think the photo is an untouched pic, hence you see what she really looks like. It's unrealistic to expect Sheila or anyone else to look the same as they did 25 years ago. Sheila looks very good.

WOW!!! she only needs a broom :0).... Seriously I've seen Sheila up close and personal and she doesn't look like that picture at all., she barely wears make up because i could see dark circles under her eyes but didn't see wrinkles nor lines. At almost fifty most people still look fine (depending on the lifestyle) I've seen 30 year olds looking like 75... But again that picture was altered somehow it looks like Sheila applied 100 pounds of dry sand on her face...

Don't blame the photographers, they don't usually retouch red carpet photos as they are turned around and sold for publication the next day. Retouching usually happens when the photog is hired to do pics by an artist, magazine, or company for official release because it's an expensive process. It's not his fault she wasn't looking her best. Also, remember, lighting plays a HUGE part and I believe this was outside at sunset which may explain why the makeup looks like that and the extra squinting. The makeup you use for high def tv is TOTALLY different than what you'd wear in natural light for your best photo. But even so, her makeup looked odd around her eyes in the show. You can kinda see it in this pic. What the hell, I still think she's gorgeous and that body is STILL banging for 20, 30 OR 50! nod But, shit P won't EVEN take his shades off so I can only imagine what's going on there! eek

Oh, I'm still gonna blame the photographer, who should have known better than to take an extreme closeup. That's all I'm saying. It was a laidback event and Sheila's not that famous anymore--it's not like catching Madonna or J-Lo or somebody like that looking bad, so it's just mean to put it out there. Step back a little bit and get a better photo, which is the whole reason stars stop on the red carpet in the first place.

Sheila is STILL beautiful...she looks better than a lot of women in their 30's. Bad pics can happen to anyone.

Well, I thought she was fifty years old already. I know she's a year or two older than Prince. Well, at least she looks normal. She's aging beautifully. Though, I think Prince broke her heart but that's another thread/topic. Again, at least she looks normal and is not trying to look 19 with surgery and her skin pulled back crazy nuts like Burt Reynolds.
I don't give a care, Sheila E. looks beautiful to me.

Oh my god now she looks like one of those hawaiian dolls... Sheila is gorgeous don't matter what and she might not be that famous as someone posted but she has plenty of work and soon will be the judge in the American Idol Band thing., that means Sheila still very much up there!!! without making headlines nor being involved in Tinseltown scandals drugs, alcohol...she certainly has managed to keep a balanced and low profile personal life.... Bravo sheila !!!!

How is a nationally televised, prime time awards show where YOU are the headlining performer a laid back event??? The WHOLE purpose of going on the red carpet is to be photographed regardless of your level of fame. The red carpet is optional and celebs can enter a venue without doing the red carpet. Therefore, any celeb on the red carpet is fair game and they know they don't have any control how the pics are used so they BETTER have their look together or pay the consequences. The photogs are just doing their job. Besides, who's to say the photographer took the pic as a close up it could very well have been cropped. Also, there's usually limited room for the photogs so there isn't anywhere for them to step back to and since it's like an assembly line they don't have time to take the most flattering pic of a celeb regardless of who they are because there’s another one coming right behind them. I think she came on the carpet wearing high def makeup not realizing that it would photograph poorly in full sunlight. I bet she won’t do THAT again. LOL! lol

Get used to these people looking old, or your obsession will make them disppear.
And we wont be able to enjoy thier presence anymore.
That would be sad.
Its what I feart Prince is going to do when he turns 50.
Disappear, go into seclusion.

Well she is getting older but, yeah I think that's a bad shot, too much make-up and the sunlight. I do not think it's photoshopped tho, I can tell.
