Is Pandemonium by The Time a good album?

Is Jesse Johnson on it? How does it compare to their 80s albums?

It's a good album, but it's not as good as the three 80's albums. Yeah Jesse is on Pandemonium

Pandemonium the second best Time album I think because it's the only album that has the actual band playing on it, including Jesse. It's a hundred times better than the lazy Ice Cream Castles record.

I don't like it. The material is below their standard. I do agree with the assesment of 'Ice Cream Castles' being "lazy", but even the best material on that album ('My Drawers', 'Jungle Love' and 'The Bird') outclasses anything on 'Pandemonium'.

'Pandemonium' isn't offensive but you aren't likely to go back for many repeat listens.

man, he has such an amazing body of music that it's sad to see him constrict it down to the basics. he's too talented for the lineup he's doing. estelle 81

I love the song Blondie because it has more of an rock edge than Skillet.

Probably the second best album. What Time Is It..then Pandemonium.

Pandemonium dancing jig
Jerk Ou dancing jig
Chocolate dancing jig
Skillet
Data Bank
Blondie nod
Donal Trump Black Version is aiight, but I dont really play that one often.
It's Your World is kind of a skipper 2. My Summertime Thing isnt as good as Latest Fashion since it basically is Latest Fashion pt. II

I'd say it is a coo breezy fun album. Nothin too serious. Probably their most funniest album. In contrast to the first you can here the growth since then. All their albums are vastly different than eachother I must say
Straight Jacket Funk Affair
Album plays and love for vinyl records.

EASY ONE. yes, and I like it as much as the older albums. I have to admit, I listen to it more than the 1st two albums (which have some pretty bad slow songs on them). Also, the first 3 albums have only 6 songs each, and Pandemonium has Skillet (amazing), Blondie (freakin' amazing), Pandemonium (great jam) and Chocolate (funny as hell)-- 11 songs as I recall-- almost as much as the 1st 2 albums combined!

The slower jam (Sometimes I get lonely) is about as crappy as the rest of their slower jams (Gigilos get lonely too, Girl, Chili Sauce) and the other tracks (Donald Trump Black version, It's Your World, My Summertime Thang) are all OK, but not stellar.

The seques are pretty funny. "Gimme little bit of that pepper (pepper), gimme little bit of that salt (salt), put it in the skillet and cook it (cook it) on that stove I bought! WE DON'T NEED NO MICROWAVE!

Overall, it blew Graffiti Bridge away and those were released in the same year, so Yes it is worth getting.

Damn it has been 17 years since it came out! YOUNT!
The expanded version of my book PRINCE and The Purple Rain Era Studio Sessions 1983-1984 was released in November 2018. (www.amazon.com/gp/product/1538114623/ref=dbs_a_def_rwt_bibl_vppi_i0) or www.facebook.com/groups/1...104195943/

I agree with your assessment.'Pandemonium' is a mess. There are a few good songs ("Jerkout","It's Your World",Sometimes I Get Lonely, title track) but there's alot of filler as well. The whole thing is too long and uneven.

I've said this before and I'll say it again: There are only two must-have Time albums....the self-titled debut (1981) and their masterpiece 'What Time Is It?'.The other two Time albums, you can throw away.

That would mean throwing away Jungle Love, The Bird, Blondie, My Drawers, Jerk Out, and most importantly Skillet... No sane person would do that!

The first two albums are very good, but don't get carried away! A greatest hits album from The Time would be at least half filled with the 3rd and 4th albums, do yourself a favor and get them.

I have 'Ice Cream Castles' and 'Pandemonium' and I rarely listen to them.'Ice Cream Castles' sounds like it was hastily thrown together and there's only one song that I really like ("My Drawers").'Pandemonium' sounds dis-jointed and messy....they needed to throw half of those songs away and kept it tight and simple. The first two Time albums are tight and focused, with strong songs and killer grooves.

Sometimes I wish maybe those really long album versions could have been cut down to allow another track to fit. The only song on Pandemonium that I think is filler is Prince's "Data Bank". Take off that one and the record is perfect.

I bought Pandemonium about 3 years after it came out, and it disappointed me. I listened to it a few times but could'nt get into it. The songs were weak. I gave it to a charity shop. Their debut album I do like, I think it's the best Time album.
