VANITY contributes to Bassist's Book

It looks like Vanity will be a contributor to Nikki Sixx's new book 'The Heroin Diaries' due out in September. This is a excerpt from a write up on a press conference for the book that I came across.

".....MÖTLEY CRÜE bassist along with several project partners. In introducing Sixx, Conniff called the book "the most addictive rock and roll take since 'The Dirt'." Sixx then revealed to a packed room of reporters and camera crews that the book was based on the actual diaries he kept during the height of his crippling heroin addiction in the late '80s along with commentary by a host of people including his CRÜE bandmates, Vanity (his girlfriend at the time), Slash and a host of former associates. "I felt the book wasn't complete without other people's perspective and opinions on what I was like as an addict," said Sixx. "They would tell me if I was full of sh*t." Simon & Schuster are publishers.

Now, anyone who has read my blurbs knows that I am not one of Sixx's fans. confused
However, I am one of Vanity's biggest fans. I am totally against buying this book, mainly because of it's author, but I would be very interested to see what Vanity says in the book. And also, it means that she has been in touch with him, which is quite interesting, (to me anyway smile ).

As hard as it is for me to say it, I think it will be interesting to see what she says, not necessarily about him, but her own frame of mind at the time. This would have been right after she left the Purple One, in the midst of her appearances on Arsenio Hall, Merv Griffin, Bandstand and all those other shows.

We get so little from her these days that any insight is so welcomed! lol

Wow! Just saw an excerpt from the book. There is a picture of Vanity with Sixx. He talks candidly about the drug days.

She also writes something, but it's more about her being Denise & not Vanity.
Here's the link:http://newmedia.10thst.co...ooklet.pdf

Interesting, but so glad she's out of all that now. wink

Exactly. But did you see the link above. She's in there, picture and all. But she is the one person who doesn't actually tell anything personal about them together. She speaks only of herself.Guess he just wanted her in there as she was a main player in his life at the time, probably among lots of other druggies.
