He isn't schooling some protege on how to act in public, what to wear, what to say and not to say, etc. He's always gone for someone in his band that he can form in his own image. Or a celebrity that will look good next to his name in print. This is the first time I can think of that he's gone for someone who's independent of all that. At the celebration Mani just sat in the back playing with children and talking to friends. Half of the time, she wasn't even watching her man perform. And he doesn't have the need to show her off like former girlfriends. They keep a relatively low profile together. Prince seems to have relaxed since the whole Mayte bs. And I'm happy for him that he finally understands what real love is.
TRON,this is a great post!! --- This is a good post TRON!! I think you summed things up really well.

If you're trying to be some sort of pyscho-analyst you'll have to improve your 'skills' somewhat. So Prince 'must' have 'mentally abused' Mayte, because she acts differently around Tommy Lee? What judgemental conjecture! Maybe she is acting this way because of Tommy's influence or for a myriad of other unknowable reasons. So Mayte's alleged 'Catholicism' is fine, but Prince's is an 'idiot religion'? You're just allowing your own small-minded judgements and prejudices to bias your commentary. I really can't think of what would make someone want to get up in the morning and write such moronic, infantile nonsense on these pages. [This message was edited Wed Sep 25 12:56:46 PDT 2002 by Mr7] I know what would make a person write such crap in the morning. Dumbness!!! I also caught the slam and JW's but the "Catholicism is fine.(LOL) This person does not read the papers Catholicism is fine if you want your child sexually assaluted by a priest.

Listen, I don't know why everybody is bashing the Jehovahs. I also don't like the Catholics bashing them . Listen as long as one has Faith this is what is Important. You Have to Believe in Something. Furtermore Mayte wasn't abused and she was always Fun,Wild and Sexy. She hasn't changed. Prince is also still the Same. Nobody is Wrong. Prince is a very quiet, reserved guy. He does need to get Wild again though and stop with the Judgemental stuff about fans ,cause it's not right. His fans Love him so what if they have Tatoos or wear wild Clothing and such? Nobody wants Prince Preaching like our Fathers or Brother in his Music or at his concerts. We just wanna have fun and dance.

i see everybodies point of view here and thats all it is is a point of view. its easy for us to judge because their lives are so public. but i believe it is abuse if you can't morn the loss of your child in your own way. if you look at the oprah interview look at her eyes, she looks as though she's been crying heavily. how would you feel if your husband told the world that everything is fine when your child was already dead. i read that book by liz jones and there were instances in that book that told of complications, how she wasn't allowed to go to the hospital and lie about her name, his name and the babies name thats alot to take in when your young correct me if im wrong about her age wasn't she 18 or 19 dealing with this. the book also said that mayte would get tired of prince treating her like a puppet and she was right. you can't tell people how to feel. Prince was too old for her anyway. she hadn't gone out and dated when she was of age because she was with prince. she didn't have the chance to grow up and figure out who she is as a woman. i don't really think it was a good move for her to date tommy right now. you'd figure she spend some time by herself to figure out who she is. tommy was caught up in so much drama and he's older too. it would have been good on his part to take time from dating to spend more time with his boy's. pamela too. divorce is a long and bitter process and i think people should wait to date after they iron out the mess but thats just my opinion.

Whatever,I think Mayte decided to get involved and she looks happy and they are Consoling each other through their hard times. I just find it Odd that all of Prince's ex's go with Motley Crue guys afterward. Is that deliberate or something?

Maybe Mayte abused Prince.
Why is the man always blaimed? No women is an angel or loving all the time. We woman can be just as hurtful. If U don't beleive this is true then just read what other woman say about other women & men.

Does ANYONE here want to deny the fact that Prince is a control freak?
What do YOU think he did to a 17-year old? What kind of shit do YOU think went on behind closed doors? He probably had her on such a short leash that when he finally let her go, she went crazy! Did Prince love her? Maybe...in his own convoluted way. However, real men don't go out and have their marriage annuled when your wife has a deformed child. You stand by your woman and try to grown stronger from the experience. Who "banished" who in that relationship? I smelled something rotten when I read the magazine article about the house in Spain that he set up for her. She was probably cramping his style and demanding monogamy from him (oooh the horror!). Don't let your fascination with Prince's music cloud your judgement on real life people. By St. Boogar and all the saints at the backside door of Purgatory!

you better believe it purplejedi, you hit it right on the head. she was too young for him and i would feel like crap if my husband annuled our marriage, i know damn well i wouldn't put up with that crap. it was all about controlling the mind of a child cause he wouldn't have gotten away with that with an experienced older woman.
