That VH1 shit was fucking strange. This is not the Mayte I remember from that damn Oprah interview. Remember the quiet, shy little pixy that Prince had under his thumb? This new Mayte is bold and talkative, and definetly not shy. She even screams for dick on camera; you got to love that guys. He he.

Mayte seemed real free to me. Like a woman let out of some prison. She can talk her mind now, and seems to be the boss with Tommy. She had no problem sharing her life and was not defensive like the old Mayte; which kind of proves Prince controlled her like a robot, and must of mentally abused her.

Notice how she does that opposite of everything Prince now holds sacred: She eats meat, she curses, she talks and gives open minded opinions, she can yell back at her mate, she openly likes sex, she wore a cross around her neck!

It was obvious from the Sinbad show in 98 that Mayte seemed uncomfortable with the JW stuff. Remember, that most Latino's are big on catholocism; Princes idiot religion probobly went against her beliefs. Maybe married Prince because he was unique and believed in freedom; now he only believes in clamping down on personal freedom; of the body and the soul.

Mayte also seemed happy with Tommy's kids. she cannot have kids of her own, so Tommy's kids take the place; and Tommy seems to love his family, while Prince only loves himself and Larry.

Good for Mayte that she got out of that bad scene with Prince. Prince, it is sad to admit, must of abused her mentally somewhat. Sad, to say the least. Especially, since I am admitting that Tommy is a step up from Prince!

I don't think she changed completely. I think this was always Mayte but she was Prince's wife remember and she just let Prince handle everything . She just followed his lead. I remember Prince stating after the Death of the Baby that he wished he could put a Smile back on his wife's face. I think he tried his best to make Mayte happy and I know he absolutely Adored her. Whatever caused the break-up I think Prince would want her to be on her own and happy if this is what she wants. I think she is very Happy with Tommy and I believe they will be good together. The image though is a little skanky compared to Prince though. It's a different scene. I don't think Prince ever abused her.

What it comes down to is Prince and Tommy are 2 totally different people in every possible way. And it just so happens she is happier with Tommy. Good for her, and good for Prince finding happiness again as well.

I can't wait to see this show...

Obviously at some point Prince and Mayte were very much in love,it went wrong,it happens but dont blame either one of them for the break up,it takes two remember?

Many Latinos in Pentacostal, JW, Prostestant etc. And, not to defend her because she only falls for men who are famous so she can be famous, a typical goldigger but it was not her who had the "baby problem", that was Prince. But I do agree he's was very controlling with her but she wasn't the first and the last. Nothing new or shocking, Prince is a control freak! To those of you who diss Mayte's behavior,keep in mind that she has been through alot.She lost her baby.Her marriage ended.Her husband wrote a bunch of "not-so-nice" songs about her on the 'Rave' album.None of us know Prince personally,but I think it's a safe bet that he was a control freak,and could be a very isolated and moody person at times.When Mayte appeared with him on TV interviews,you could tell that HE was in control of everything.

So,it makes sense that Mayte is now having a blast.She deserves happiness and obviously Tommy makes her happy.She's not ready to settle down and become a religious,Bible-toting housewife.She wants to drink beer,have wild sex,and party!! She's young,so that's to be expected.Remember,Prince did all these things too when he was younger.I wish her well.

I think Prince is better off too. For once with Mani it seems like he doesn't need to mold her into something she's not. He isn't schooling some protege on how to act in public, what to wear, what to say and not to say, etc. He's always gone for someone in his band that he can form in his own image. Or a celebrity that will look good next to his name in print. This is the first time I can think of that he's gone for someone who's independent of all that. At the celebration Mani just sat in the back playing with children and talking to friends. Half of the time, she wasn't even watching her man perform. And he doesn't have the need to show her off like former girlfriends. They keep a relatively low profile together. Prince seems to have relaxed since the whole Mayte bs. And I'm happy for him that he finally understands what real love is.

I thought Mayte looked great on the show. I think she's a sweetheart. Seems like she's happier now that she's split with Prince.

I'm still thrown by the whole Tommy Lee thing. The guy is an idiot although a lovable one in an Ozzy sort of way. The only explanation I can give for why she is with him is that Prince spoiled her on the rock star life. That's all she's known since 17 and it's tough to go back to living an ordinary life. Too bad for her cause Tommy's career is running on fumes.

Maybe she will hook up with Justin Timberlake next.

Mayte is a very smart Cookie Indeed. As far as a career goes she found somebody to work with,adopted his style, his Image. She was one way with Prince now she's with Tommy. He has a different Image. She is rolling with it. Prince never Abused her.
