MIAMI VICE: ARE PRINCE FANS USUALLY VICE FANS? Just wondering...It appears that everybody I know personally who's a diehard Prince fan is a BIG Miami Vice fan? How do you stand?
Anywho, Universal has FINALLY released all five seasons of Miami Vice. Back in the day, both Don Johnson and Philip Michael Thomas were EYE CANDY! Anywho, the only references from the Prince Camp during the Miami Vice blitz was in a first season episode called "Home Invaders". Shelia E's Glomourous Life was played. There was one reference to Prince in a second season episode called "Trust Fund Pirates".Nuggie, The Nugg Man (Crockett and Tubb's informant) said, "With purple I thought you were Prince and his body guard (referring to Chick)".

You mean this SCARY looking guy here? Hmmm...Not too familar with him. You mean that BRILLIANT guy there. Yeah, I kinda remember that, but I don't remember the episode. Didn't he play someone evil and sleazy? I remember Zappa on the Monkees, that was fun.

I LOVE Miami Vice. Loved the period when Sheena Easton was on there as Sonny's wife and Robert Deniro's ex (Tookie Smith) was her shit-talking assistant, Then she was shot dead on stage by a sniper that was after Sonny. Classic melodramatic 80s television. . . It was revolutionary in a lot of trivial ways but I loved it anyway. I actually TIVO the reruns every day that air on Stealth and TVLand. They also had the best guest stars. [Edited 6/17/07 10:19am]

[Edited 6/17/07 10:19am] its funny cause that episode always stuck it my mind, i actually cried when sheena easton got shot, it was so sad, i just remember her walking off stage, and falling into sonnys arms, when she got shot. "Sometimes being a cold hard bitch is all a woman has left."

I know, it was very sad, Sonny developed a split personality soon after that. The women in their lives did NOT fare very well most were killed or imprisoned or crazy. Great television. At least they were doing something new and different unlike most shows on tv today.

Look for alot of zappa stuff on youtube; amazing guitar solos; better than Prince. Albums to buy; Hot rats One size fits all You can't do that on stage anymore 1 & 2 Sheik yerbouti You are what you is After that you will probably want to get everything. People call Prince a genius and HE IS but Zappa was on another level.
