I think he's over the hill (lights are on but nobody home).
On the 1 nite alone... live, his performance was just terrible. small circles, big wheels!
I've got a pretty firm grip on the obvious!

He is a damn funk genius and legend. As such he deserves respect.
George is still worth seeing. Even his new music is good enough to be worth buying. I've got the Montreaux Jazz DVD which was filmed after the 'ONA ... LIVE!' set, and he is still VERY good. So yes, I would definitely attend. I've heard very good reports about George's recent shows (i.e the past 2 years). He tours constantly. If he was that 'over the hill' or fucked-up nobody would pay to see him. As it stands, he plays year after year after year. [Edited 6/22/07 1:06am]

Jesus Chris how can one ask that?!!! I've seen george Clinton & his crew 6 times on stage & all 6 were extraordinary experiences, the best shows i've ever seen along with Prince (& this coming from a guy who's seen Miles Davis, Bootsy Collins, James Brown, Larry Graham, Zapp, Terence Trent D'Arby, Cameo, Chaka Khan, Michael Jackson, Maceo Parker & Fred Wesley, Morris Day & The Time, Sheila E., Earth Wind & Fire, Marcus Miller, Candy Dulfer, Mavis Staples & The Staple Singers, Ani DiFranco, Bill Laswell, John Zorn, Tony Allen, Portishead, Lamb, Rickie Lee Jones, Sounds Of Blackness, Buckshot Le Fonque, Sting, Sonny Rollins, Bobby McFerrin, Susheela Raman, Eric Truffaz, Nils Peter Molvaar, Morcheeba, Tricky, Guru's Jazzmatazz & a few others i 4got.) The longest show was 5 hours, another 2 were 4 hours, one was 3 hours & only 2 shows were only... 2 hours & a half. These guys play their whole catalogue from Parliament's pure funk, Funkadelic's psych-rock & George Clinton's more recent hip-hop/r&b stuff. They have an INCREDIBLE energy, often being up 2 15 musicians on stage, & George himself is like so, wow! U can really FEEL the man. Just go, it's gonna b the party of ur life !!!
