Who have they been? I can't think of any (okay, Prince. Maybe?)


It was just a random thought that occurred to me, that I've noticed that of all the pics never have I seen her with anyone, but then again, I do miss a lot...so, anybody?

I tried to ask this discreetly somewhere else but came up empty, so I'll try a bit more blatantly.

Hmm, another thread speculating on Sheila's sexuality. Morningsong, you may find some people getting worked up on this thread. But there is one thing we can all agree on: It's Sheila, not Shelia.

In the 23 years that I have been a huge fan of hers, I have only ever heard of her being with one other person (besides Prince), and that was a probably fake story planted in the Enquirer about her making out with Gerardo (seriously) backstage at an awards show.

Other than that, there's not too much but speculation, and the members of this board are pretty evenly split into three categories: straight, lesbian, and nobody's business but hers. Expect responses from all three categories.

By the way, I talked to Wendy and Lisa after a COED show, and they implied in conversation that Sheila was gay. I'll probably get flamed for saying that when I can't prove the conversation took place, so you can take it with a grain of salt, but there you go. I've also heard Sheila's father say, on stage in a concert, "And to think I almost had Prince for a son-in-law." So it's hard to say. I just hope she's happy. She's a beautiful person inside and out.

I just wondered why such a talented beautiful woman always seemed to be alone, even in the younger years. I missed out on the previous conversations so I just thought it never came up. She seems to be as elusive as our dear Prince.

the other thread said that she was impacted by the trauma of being sexually abused at a young age and advocates for such victims now. btwn that and prince, she's scarred. i will not concede that sheila is a carpet muncher

In 1986,I heard that she was dating actor Stoney Jackson (!),but I think that was just wishful thinking on his part Back then,every guy wanted to date Sheila,lol.

In 1988,she was engaged to Prince.She said so herself.They didn't get married because he had "too many other women hanging around",Sheila said.

I hope I don't get flamed for this reply, but I was hanging out with a couple of guys that play with Santanta. I got the nerve up to ask them if Santanta knew what a huge influence he was on Prince, they all said he knew. Don't remember how the conversation turned to Sheila, but they all claimed she prefers the ladies.....

Talking about significant other the only person she is always with is Lynn her manager and most of the pictures when she is on vacation is also with Lynn so she might be her "significant other". Sheila usually attends the Hollywood scene with her father or Lynn.. The trauma of her childhood sexual molestation has probably traumatized her deeply... but whatever her sexual preference is it doesn't matter she is a beautiful human being and superb musician with an impecable record...She did say though she always wanted to have an all girls group because women are suppose to love each other . that statement doesn't mean she plays for the same team !! oH whatever....

I agree with some of the sentiments already expressed here.
I don't care about her sexuality (that's her business), but Sheila deserves love whether it be from a man, woman, martian or whatever.
She's an amazing woman who does alot for others and as long as she's loved and happy then i'm happy.

Lynn is very nice and affectionate I met her few months back and it was like wow she is so cool and very watchful and caring with Sheila I heard someone close to the family saying that the job of a manager is babysitting the celebrity and Lynn sure had her hands full that night quite a few people around Sheila and Lynn on patrol the entire time. She is a great singer .!! and yes i agree my main concern is that Sheila is well taken care of and loved a lot of love..she is a precious rare gem.. God bless her and all the well wishers.

I don't have a link to the magazine article a couple years ago with Sheila... but it is the magazine where she says that she and Prince were engaged but never got married.

Anyway, there is a picture where you can clearly see Sheila is wearing wedding rings... diamond solitaire and a band of diamonds...
I asked if Sheila was married... but no response... so I came up with my own conclusions.

Another thread someone mentioned she was at Guy's the other night with a woman. She is accompany by females most of the time but that doesn't mean she is gay, maybe she feels safer.. Don't matter what the woman is a genius, gorgeus and a beautiful human being and i love her !!!

This subject comes up alot, everyone swears that she stated that she was engaged to Prince in interviews but no one can find the article or tape..and no one can find any other guy that she has dated. I personally think that she is a lesbian...but does it really matter?NO... she seems to be a good person and I love what she is trying to do with her foundation for kids...and I think that Lynn Mabry is her significant other:-D

Shelia did an interview in a "Where Are They Now" People magazine issue back in 2002 or 2003 discussing Prince. She talked about their relationship and she stated they were engaged around the time of the Lovesexy era. (I was surprised when I read that).. But she said he wouldn't commit and was with Susanah at that time (and dating other women).


I could really care less if she's into women. She can play the shit out of the drums and looks great doing it. That's still my chick.
