ASSOCIATED ARTIST B-SIDES?

I noticed that The Time has a song called "Grace" as the b-side to "777-9311". Didn't they also have a b-side called "Tricky"? Are there any other associated artist b-sides that Prince may have produced? I seem to recall Sheila E had a b-side song called "Too Sexy" on one of her early 12" records. I've never heard any of these songs. Just curious to know if these are Prince productions...

"Too Sexy" appeared on the B-side of Sheila's "The Belle Of St.Mark" single and yes,I'm sure Prince had alot to do with it.

In 1987,Sheila's "Hold Me" single came with another B-side track "The World Is High".I'm not sure if Prince was involved with this song (doesn't sound like it).

Actually, Prince didn't write Too Sexy. It was done by Sheila, Michael Weaver, Bennie Rietveld, and Steph Birnbaum. Sheila had three other non-album B-sides: Save the People (on Sister Fate), credited solely to Sheila but probably written in collaboration with Prince; The World Is High (on Hold Me), credited to Sheila and Levi Seacer, but it also sounds like Prince on there (his voice in there as well); and Paradise Gardens, credited to Sheila and Constance Guzman. I don't know if Prince had anything to do with this.

There are a lot of other people more knowledgeable in what Prince wrote and didn't; hopefully they'll come along to answer you for sure and provide answers to other associated artists' B-sides.

One last thing, completely a side note: Save the People has some of the best percussion work from Sheila. It's a great track with very few lyrics that seems like a jam session between her and Prince.

1) Tamara and the Seen had a B-Side called "Baby You Turn Me Up". I think it was the B-side of Affection. Not 100% sure though.

2) Andre Cymone had a B-Side called "Red Light". It's the B-side to The Dance Electric.

"Tricky" was the b-side to "Jungle Love". It's a "cloreen baconskin"-kinda song ("yegadiyeck my ass muthafucker..."). The Madhouse b-sides are great. They are unsuprisingly called 6 1/2 etc.

That is a blazin' hot B-Side too.

Also, "Tricky" is believed to be an evilly-humorous jab at George Clinton.

That's great. Yeah, that's what I remember...Do you know how many singles were issued from each Madhouse album and which specific singles had a non-lp b-side?

Dang! I have the 12" "Dance Electric" single by Andre Cymone. "Red Light" IS the b-side. Unfortunately I have no turntable on which to play it... sad

"Hip Hop Love" (dreadful little song . . . )
"Balance" (mmmm!)
"Stones and Birth" (lovely)

I know I'm missing some . . .
