Noon Rendevous AKA Noon Rhondavous for a certain somebody. Be it Sheila E's version or Prince's own version, who else loves this vastly underrated, dreamy ballad? [Edited 5/31/07 22:05pm]

I love this song. Check out the bootleg called "Neon Rendezvous " ( yes, the bootleg is called Neon Rendezvous, not Noon Rendezvous ) , it is a rehearsal from 1984 which contains a very long and guitar heavy version of Something In The Water ( almost 15 min. long) and a 15 minute long version of Noon Rendezvous with Prince singing the lyrics and Wendy, Lisa and Jill Jones singing background.
It´s my all time favorite bootleg, a quintessential must-have that came out in various version in the early 90´s. There was also a vinyl bootleg which supposedly contains an even longer version of this song ( almost 18 min.) but I can´t really hear any editing on the CD version. Ex-bodyguard Hucky also mentioned a very beautiful piano version that Prince played at a hotel on Sheila´s birthday but that one is not circulating. Sheila´s version is also nice but once you´ve got the Prince version you don´t want to hear any other version anymore. " I´d rather be a stank ass hoe because I´m not stupid. Oh my goodness! I got more drugs! I´m always funny dude...I´m hilarious! Are we gonna smoke?"

Simply gorgeous! What I wouldn't give to hear that piano version though!

I love this song. I'm suprised it hasn't been remade and released as a single by somebody.

I love this song too.
I've never heard the bootleg version mentioned above though. Ask where they're going, they'll tell U – "Nowhere"
They've taken a lifetime lease on Paisley Park ...

That's because these subjects have been discussed numerous times in the past... What hasn't been discussed here numerous times? Electric Intercourse gets a new thread every week."Where's Cat?" used to get alot too.Different people come and go here.Different people, different responses.I've just never seen much mention of Noon Rendevous here though. You just have to search some of the older threads, that's all. Don't get your panties (or drawers) all in a bunch. Chill My author page: https://www.amazon.com/au...eretttruth

Love both versions... I am not African. Africa is in me, but I cannot return.
I am not taína. Taíno is in me, but there is no way back. I am not european. Europe lives in me, but I have no home there. I am new. History made me. My first language was spanglish. And I am

I have the vinyl and it's incredible. Never timed it though, and there's no printing on the platter at all. But no matter how long it is, it's not long enough. There are some things I could listen to for hours and hours and seriously never get tired of--and the "sittin' in this cafe waitin' for my baby" part is one of them.
