I don't count Chaka... since she was not "in Prince camp" anymore than miles Davis, George Clinton and Madonna.
She was an established respected, LEGENDARY star who had Prince write and produce 1 (2??) albums from her out of DOZENS of albums she recorded and many of them were BIG hits in their time. I don't think Chaka was "in Prince's camp" and should not be compared to V6, A6, Time, etc who ONLY successful musical efforts have been with Prince. However, of the female singers Prince has worked with... I would say Chaka Khan has the best voice... really period, male or female. Rosie for me without a doubt. She really challenged Prince as a singer himself. I could hear the influence that she had on him vocally during their period together. I LOVED the way they harmonized together. Some of their performances together still give me chills. I haven't seen/heard that with P and any other singer. perfection is a fallacy of the imagination...

Rosie may have been powerful with her man-sized lungs, but she was as subtle as a brick through a window.
I'd say Jevetta Steele, Jill Jones or Sheena Easton. Sheena's voice on '101' gives me goosebumps every time I hear it.

Cherrelle was never in Prince camp... she was in Jam and Lewis' camp. Who is the girl who sang Funkytown...was she in Prince's camp?? I have never heard that before. Jam and Lewis came from Prince's tree...anyone who comes in on their branch is also from Prince's tree...and the girl who sang "Funkytown" was in Prince's very first band but she opted out before Prince erupted upon the scene...triva, but true..check it out for yourself...

That's a bit of a reach because by that logic, Janet is a Prince protege'. and I disagree with that. Consider this... Cherelle, NEVER recorded with Prince... NEVER performed with Prince, NEVER had a song written for her by Prince... NEVER recorded at Paisley Park. How do you figure she was from Prince's camp?? She probably never even met Prince.
