She left the NPG line-up at the conclusion of the Diamonds and Pearls tour (July 12, 1992), but was still planning to release an album through Paisley Park, and recorded several tracks later the same year ('Pain', 'Hit U In The Socket' and 'Extraordinary').

Originally the O+> album was partially recorded with Rosie doing co-lead and backing vocals. The Continental is a good example of a song that you could tell was written with Rosie in mind, Prince going back and re-recording the vocals.

He said in the mid-90's that he recorded more songs with Rosie that could've seen the light of day had the music biz been set up to release more albums, more frequently.

Since she left the band, it would have seemed fruitless to release the album with her and then tour without her.

Rosie actually recorded an entire album in 1993.It's called 'Concrete Jungle' and it was supposed to be released in March 1994.But by that time,Paisley Park Reocrds had closed down and Rosie left to go to Motown. She released the album 'Closer Than Close' in 1995,but the rejected album produced with Prince still sits in the Paisley Park vaults.

She then reappeared on 'Chaos And disorder', four years after the Symbol album was released.

Check out her dulcet tones on 'I Rock, Therefore I Am', for example.
