Miles

Away from her musical and acting endeavours with Prince and beyond, Apollonia had two major talents in my opinion.

Y'all need to get out your DVD/ videos of 'Purple Rain' one more time.

A fine woman imo. biggrin

I like her CD boxed It was something entirely new and fresh...probably ahead of it's time. Her poetry is very interesting.Certainly alot better than the Carmen Electra and T.C. Ellis CDs,lol.

Well, now, see, I never bought them shits lol Something just told me they were terrible disbelief Come to think of it, I didn't realize he let that TC mf put out a WHOLE ALBUM??? whofarted He would have been better off working with TC from the Wayans Bros giggle

falloff giggle

To me Tony M, Kirk J, and the other dude that were in the NPG are the least talented along with Wally and Brooks. Simply annoying as hell! I love Call the Law but I hate seeing so much of them in the video. feeling ill As for the females, based strictly on talent, or lack thereof, I'd say Appollonia and Carmen.

I have to agree with that. Although I don't know that any of them are "technically" protege's. Going only by those who he produced albums for...
hmmm
That's tough as there were a couple who were really "beneath" him talent-wise. I'm in agreement with the view that he spent a lot of time with people who he could control and mold (and "DO" lol ) rather than those who were more challenging or talented in their own right.
I'd rather answer a "who was/were the best" thread on this topic. biggrin
Ask where they're going, they'll tell U – "Nowhere"

Weren't all those guys featured heavily on Gold Nigga as well as the Symbol album? In the 3 Chains of Gold video there's a part where the band is bitching about how Prince said Mayte is the inspiration for the new album. One of them, I think Tony M or Kirk, says something like "She didn't inspire me, she wasn't nowhere around when we were writing these songs!" That shit cracks me up everytime cuz I'm like, "Nigga puhleaze! YOU weren't nowhere around when P was writing those songs so how you gon' clown Mayte????" That part kills me. lol

yes, you are right. But I consider those Prince albums not protege albums, if that's what you meant. That shit you mention about their Mayte comments is too funny though....and you are right again on that point! Why did he ever put that on there? Was he just playing one fool off another? hmmm

I'd have 2 say Carmen Electra-I don't know what the hell she think she was doing period!

Mayte- Personally I think she would have been better off sticking 2 Ballet or whatever it was she studied in cuz when she got on stage with Prince the only thing that impressed me was how she got her leg so high in the air. All that other shit seem like it wasn't much work put into that. Anybody can shake their ass and hair around and get humped by Prince eek Wait! Now that I read that last part It doesn't sound like such a bad idea after all. Shit I think I'd shake my hair and ass on stage 2 if there were promises that I'd be getting humped by prince later. Or sooner! lol

TC Ellis wins in a landslide. I'm sorry but that dude had NO talent whatsoever.

hmmm confused http://www.youtube.com/wa...ed&search=

Also whos the dolly bird in the video?

:boxed:That was a scary video, Tony M cant rap and all those black dudes had on those bad flouro (Full Force style) outfits, Prince is in some of his gayest ever clothes and that Jamie Foxx headband. wasnt 91 a terrible year for fashion.
The chick is either Diamond or Pearl or possibly Anna Garcia (Princes girlfriend then, not Mayte or possibly its Taja Seville.
