I guess the poster was just having fun and maybe I'm looking at it too seriously. To me Mayte and Mani looked perfect for Prince and he's now divorced from both of them.

So you're suggesting marriage based solely on height & age? What about brains, personality, personal connection, etc.? Or should wives just function as platonic arm candy? The check. The string he dropped. The Mona Lisa. The musical notes taken out of a hat. The glass. The toy shotgun painting. The things he found. Therefore, everything seen–every object, that is, plus the process of looking at it–is a Duchamp.

I completely agree with you on a personal point of view. Now, go and say that to Prince because he seems to be dating the same kind of girl: Young, medium size, dark long hair, stunning....

If we go by the height then Sheila E must be his match she is even shorter than him without the elevator shoes she wears.

I agree.Prince has spent many years chasing after "beautiful" women who look like models.Of course, these relationships never last.Perhaps he should concentrate on finding a woman of substance? You know...a woman who may not look like Vanity, but actually has intelligence and brains.

[Edited 4/8/07 3:33am] Back in 80, in print no less, Rick said that P was color struck. SynthiaRose said "I'm in love with blackguitaristz. Especially when he talks about Hendrix."
nammie "What BGZ says I believe. I have the biggest crush on him." http://ccoshea19.googlepa...ssanctuary http://ccoshea19.googlepages.com

Back in 80, in print no less, Rick said that P was color struck. cocaine's a helluva drug. not saying Rick didn't say that, but he talked a lot of smack so I take anything I read/hear from him with a couple grains of salt. The check. The string he dropped. The Mona Lisa. The musical notes taken out of a hat. The glass. The toy shotgun painting. The things he found. Therefore, everything seen–every object, that is, plus the process of looking at it–is a Duchamp.

People like to hear the truth from people they like but as truth would have it, it does not always come that way. It doesn't make it any less true. Facts are facts. Look at his dating history and you can see Prince is colorstruck. He's not the only one, but he IS ONE.

[Edited 4/8/07 3:33am] Nona Gaye and him didn't last too long. I wonder why? Prince and Nona Gaye dated for three years. That is pretty long for him. That's pretty long for many people nowadays. Also, isn't Mani a sister? Isn't she black/mixed like Vanity? Prince has had several sisters - Vanity, Susan Moonsie, Robin Powers, Nona Gaye, and Kim (the waitress from Purple Rain). I don't know if they "dated," but Troy Beyer and Jill Jones are also "sisters." I think it is a misconception that Prince hasn't dated black women. He was also obviously quite smitten with Chante Moore when they worked together, though they did not date as they were both in relationships at the time. He even called Kenya Moore to tell her how beautiful he thought she was. Of course we can't forget his crush on Patrice Rushen who does not fit the mode either. I just think Prince tends toward black or Latina women who resemble him in terms of skin complexion and features. It's not uncommon for people to be attracted to people who look similar to them. It might seem narcissistic to some, but it's not uncommon. My parents resemble each other. And I tend toward men who look similar to me with regard to skin complexion and features as well. I think that it is highlighted with Prince because he is a fair skinned black man as are most of the women he dates. Because color issues are so big in the black community, his preferences are highlighted. No one really comments on white rockers who only date blondes. I never hear, so and so should date some brunettes. I do find it funny that Rick James called Prince color struck considering his proclivity toward white women. Talk about the pot calling the kettle... At the end of the day, no one knows why we are attracted to what we are attracted to - we just are. [Edited 4/10/07 21:08pm] perfection is a fallacy of the imagination...

[Edited 4/10/07 21:08pm] Rick called prince colorstruck because he tends to date mostly lightskinned black women and women with a certain "look", which he does. He likes the "butterscotch curlytop" types (to put it in his own reference) Nona Gaye is the exception, not the rule.
