From the sound of some of you folks, there is not one thing Prince has done in his career that was his idea. EVERYTHING was stolen from someone else who would have been a major star had Prince not "fucked them over".

Maybe I'm reading too deep into this, but it seems anytime there is a thread regarding the Time it's about how much Prince destroyed them, how much better they were than him.

I think I said it before, but has anyone forgotten that Prince gave them the FUNKIEST MATERIAL he ever recorded?

Now Morris, Andre, whoever can say whatever they want, and for some reason it is taken as gospel. Maybe one day we'll here Prince's side of the story. Until then, I look at it as Prince gave the Time their big break and when they started "turning him out" in front of crowds that had a majority of people who PREFERRED FUNK to the genre bending stuff Prince was trying at the time, things went wrong.

Now Prince probably was an asshole to the boys--there's enough evidence to point in that direction--but why? Was it the drugs that Morris was shoving up his nose? Was it the fact that the Time maybe started believing their own hype? Was it the fact that he was afraid they were better than him? Who knows, but I for one refuse to take the word of Andre Cymone and Morris Day as gospel.

i like jesse and i think he is great guitar player.
maybe prince was influanced by jesse,which is normal thing.
everybody make themself from influance they colect.
but to say that prince was scared of jesse's guitar playing i mean come on.
on triple trit tour prince went into other sphere of his persona .he return to guitar on purple rain tour.

mike scott is guitar monster compared
to jesse so does that mean prince is scared of jesse.
many of you don't even know thAT GUITAR SOLO ON 777-9311 IS PRINCE NOT JESSE.

jesse have his guitar style but its large
portion is based on improvisATION.
prince guitar solos are better structured,better choice of notes because prince is better composer.
if jesse was so great and prince was so pathetic then why are we here on prince .org instead of jesse org.

why these days only enthusiast knows for jes
se and prince is music icon.
i meaN ppl be serious i know you love jesse but he cant smell prince's socket.
you can compare prince to sly,jimi ,duke elington and miles.
can u compare jesse to those guys.
jesse was great but he is not that class

i only think you overrate jesse not as a guitar player but as artist.
