Candy Dulfer Saw Candy last night at B.B. King's Blues Bar & Grill in Times Square. Brilliant show. Performing on drums with her for the first time was the long-lost(?) Kirk Johnson (Kirky J.) with Chance Howard on bass, vocals and keyboards.
Beautiful and funky, she covered Life o' the Party in her nearly 2 hour set, which also included a fair share of new material, including the standout track, Summertime: Music is Love You're the One Finsbury Park Life of the Party Smooth Medley Summertime Everytime Brown Sugar/No Diggity Bum Bum Sax-a-Go-Go Good Time/Pick up the Pieces [Edited 3/28/07 2:44am]

nice to hear .... always good to see someone making plans alittle bit ... always seems when Prince does such things ... it is spur of the moment ... or .. if it is wayyy in advance ... he cancels !

I saw her Vegas show on the 30th, it was great! I'm eager to go see her again, hopefully she'll come over to Japan later this year (her keyboardist said she might).
I got to know her from seeing her work with Prince. But seeing her at her own show was WAY better! She blew the roof off with some awesome extended solos, not to mention the guitarist did an amazing solo of his own on the Strat! In Vegas, she played what she called a new ballad from her forthcoming album...then played a FUNKY song that I didn't recognize. I think it's the one you call Bum Bum. I hope that's on the new album too! Did she do an autograph session after the NY show? If so, did you go? I bought the Montreaux DVD and got it signed, plus talked to her briefly (verified she was going over to the Rio to play at Prince's show that night!) and got my pic taken with her! "I would say that Prince's top thirty percent is great. Of that thirty percent, I'll bet the public has heard twenty percent of it." - Susan Rogers, "Hunting for Prince's Vault", BBC, 2015
