Well, having worked at PP and been married to someone like Prince makes you get to know a lot of people in the biz. It's kinda unavoidable. And being on such events is always good if you wan't exposure and let people know about your business. I can't see much wrong with that, unless she ONLY does it to be seen, which I'm pretty sure is not the case.

That's what it's starting to come off as to me. "Love Hurts. Your lies, they cut me. Now your words don't mean a thing. I don't give a damn if you ever loved me..." -Cher, "Woman's World"

What project is she doing with Quincy Jones? Well, it's not a project she has together with Quincy. He invited her together with a bunch of other people (Usher and John Legend to name a few) to celebrate/support a project of his at the Harvard School of Public Health. Further down in the blog she calls Quincy Jones her philantrophic mentor... You can read about it here: www.myspace.com/gamillah

And Shorty stated really well one time that she found contradictory to promote social organization and at the same time shopping at the most expensive stores in New York...besides being everywhere...which gives me a different view of her. I DO like Mani very much though and can list a bunch of positive sides...but I'm starting wondering her real intentions.

Mani was a fan, who moved to Minneapolis, got a job in Paisley Park which I believe was planned and married the Rock Star of her dreams. Now she is RICH RICH RICH, living off Prince's money. However, I don't know her as a person, I'm not on the inside to say that I don't like her, and i can't be mad at the things she's doing as far as her charities and community service. I see a lot of the new band members popping up on her myspace. don't know if that means anything but she does not come off as a bad person. Maybe her intentions were to live a rich life chilling around famous people, but if that was her intentions, blame prince for that. he should have known better to marry a fan...but again, who am I to say, maybe that was real love....that's just me looking from the outside in. somehow through all of this someone is benefitting from the great work she is doing and that's pretty much all I can say about that. [Edited 2/20/07 12:56pm] Yeah, but what musician would wanna marry someone who doesn't like their music? There are fans of a musician's music and there are the the ones like Mani who purposely moved to the city where their favorite musician is and finds a way to get a job in the studio where he works and lives, and then ends up marrying him, as opposed to a chance meeting or meeting him through friends. In my opinion if I was Prince I would have given that some thought, but apparently he was convinced that there was true love between them, and who am I to judge especially as an outsider looking in. I'm just saying from Prince's perspective, I would think based on how Mani planned it out, he would wonder, "hmmm, if I popped the question to her, was she gonna say yes, REGARDLESS?" That's kind of where I stop because I simply don't know as an outsider.

[Edited 2/20/07 12:56pm] It's nice that people are benefitting from the charity part. Mani doesn't thrill me. I'd just have to meet and get to know her (which will probably never happen) to get excited about her picture appearing somewhere or something like that. Having been married to someone whose music I like is not enough. Hell, I'd love to be with Gary Dourdan (from CSI)- the man is beautiful!- but I'm not going to move across country and insinuate myself into his life to do it. (I don't believe in chance meetings, either- it basically falls under "Oh well") Yes, you go after what U want, but to that degree? That shit bordered on stalking- and Prince fell for it. (It's also a little creepy that Katie Holmes admitted she had Tom Cruise's picture on her wall when she was a teenager ) just my "Love Hurts. Your lies, they cut me. Now your words don't mean a thing. I don't give a damn if you ever loved me..." -Cher, "Woman's World"
