she is not that young she must be almost 28 now which is pretty old in the entertainment biz if u are just trying to get started. & that's one of many things that's incredibly stupid about "the biz" - it should be about talent, not age/image

This time around she's gunning for a more R&B-driven approach. "The last album was all live, and I didn't get the DJ Scratch feel on some of the songs I wanted to," she says. "This album is more R&B/hip-hop/funky with a Tina Turner vibe. But it's still very melodic."

In R & B, many artist who went on to record gold and platinum records got their "big break" well into their 30's. Not everyone "hit" at the same age as Beyonce or Brittany. People started worrying about age in the 1990s when music turned to bullshit anyway. I was watching an episode of "Soul Train" a few weeks ago from 1981. Patti LaBelle was on there and she told Don Cornelius she was 37....this was 1981. Hell, Rick James was in his 30s when he was at his biggest. Andy is a four letter word. | |

 Or,if the album does get released,it suffers from a lack of promotion (Chaka's excellent 'Come 2 My House').In recent years,Prince has had alot of bad luck producing albums for other people.His sound is just too over powering and he ends up over shadowing the artist he produces. Also it's probably tough to NOT be influenced by Prince and end up losing your own musical identity. | |

If you have a good sound, you should have a good chance... but today, the music industry especially radio judge people on image instead of sound. In my opinion this is directly related to MTV and other music videos. Now you got to have the look AND the sound... and if the sound is not quite there, they have magicians in the studio to make it sound like you got it. Dannity Kane comes to mind.
