Dear Orgers,

Just a little thread to say that I am tired of all the negativity towards Mayte Garcia.

I must say that I do not know the woman and that I have no desire to know more about her in any other way than she wishes to express herself.

I have visited her website and it looks beautiful. In the time she was with Prince's band I always thought she was groovy, a good dancer and looked awsome together with Prince.
I even forgave her when she stagedived at Paradiso and kicked my inda head with one of her boots.

But some people have an unhealthy way of obsessing over Prince, so that immediately means anyone he is involved with is also in the unhealthy picture.

And I am tired of it!

Leave Mayte alone! Leave Prince alone! Leave his new lover alone! Go live your own life and just enjoy what these people give you!

So here it is; a cheer for Mayte Garcia.

Just wondering...to all of you who "hate" Mayte,would you hate her if she was still with Prince? Many of you seem to blame her for the failure of her marriage to Prince.So,now that she's with somebody new,suddenly you can't stand her.

How pathetic!

It's not so much that she is not with Prince anymore,it's that she is with Tommy Lee. It is the most disgusting thing I've ever seen!

I just think Matye seems like a really nice and cool person, so here's another cheer for her...

I never hated Mayte - in fact, I've always kind of dug her. She is simply beautiful, a groovy dancer, and her voice ain't half bad either

I hope she finds all the happiness in the world with Tommy Lee, I really do. I wish her nothing but the best.

I do not mind criticism as long as it is logical and explained.
You all know who you are...if you cannot post without being degrading, don't post here and go somewhere else. I don't want this thread locked because of illogical behaviour.

I personally do not understand how people can 'like' or 'dislike' people in the media with such a vengeance. It is possible to have a special feeling about what these people do, like I have this connection with Prince's music (not all of it, mind!). I, myself, had this judgemental thing going on for Tommy Lee. I thought he was a no brainer, too open about his sexuality in the medie (in his music I don't mind).
And then I met Carrie Cee. She is a fan of Tommy, so that made me look again. And okay, he made mistakes, but who does not? My opwn life is littered with mistakes. So I decided that I can only be happy for him enjoying his new relation. I just hope he keeps it in the closet a bit more than normally.
They way Mayte handles her relationship I think is very nice; she just says she's happy and for me, that is where it stops. It is fun if famous people share some of their feelings, but I do not want to be Big Brother (Orwell reference this time). That makes me uncomfortable.

For the record, I quite liked Mayte.

Well, I don't know her of course, but I don't actively dislike her. She was pretty, made Prince happy for a while, had a terrible album produced by him. Not much more to say really. She doesn't deserve the silly petty comments that appear on the Org from time to time.

Nor does Larry Graham, but that's another day's work

Mayte has always been a sweet person and I think she is one of the main reasons why Prince started to get more involved with his fans (thedawn, love4oneanother, npgonline, the chats, the fan interview questions, online music, tv interviews, messages from Prince, etc). She seemed to help bring him down to earth (in these ways anyway) and helped him become more approachable to us.

There's new pictures of her in the photo section. They're pretty sweet.

Thanks. The site says she was in my town a couple weeks ago, but it doesn't say why. Is she performing? Or is she talking about Tommy? I don't remember hearing anything about either of them being here. Tommy's got a nice side to him, and his music has a cool and creative experimental-rock edge to it. Check out "Body Architects" from his new album, and "New Skin" from the one before.

I really think Mayte and Tommy are Good together. She seems to have met her True Soulmate and He's Totally in Love with her. You can tell by the way he talks about her. Good Luck to them.

I dated Tommy for several months in 1983. He is a very nice person with a lot of issues. He works in an industry that promotes drug use and very bad behavior. Despite his demons he was very nice. I could not deal with the groupies and it was not realistic to expect him to growup when he was being paid to be a big kid in the candy shop. There is more to him then you see. A very smart and emotional person. As for Mayte she was a very sweet child. I still don't forgive her for taking Aalyiah's Tierra during a dance class. But if they don't get caught up in the negative life. It could work.Many people forget celebs are just people that have talent. In hollywood you will see many untalented people get all the breaks. And nice people get the screws because they are nice. Don't judge unless you have walked a mile in their moccosians.

Well,if it's not a forever thing then maybe they are just comforting each other and having fun together. Maybe it's a business thing who knows. Whatever it is they seem happy and good luck to them. Mayte really wants to be Famous.

tommy lee IS questioning how committed he wants 2 b 2 Mayte, but they have been ngaged since Jan 1, this year...Mayte said so.
she seems MUCH more animated with tommy than she ever seemed 2 b with prince.

mayte is starting 2 act like pamela, mani is acting like mayte...and so on, and so on.

The only thing that is bad for Tommy is that he seems to be very Coked-up, Smoked-up and Drunk. I think if he could just stop Partying so Much he would be much better off. In interviews he is visably Stoned. I believe him and Pamela were Definitely Wrong for each other. If Mayte can get Tommy Lee Cleaned-up and Controlled boy than she is the Woman for him alright. Let's see if she can. Tommy and the Motley Crue guys are very Wild. Mayte you have a lot of work ahead of you. I think he's happy with her and she with him. She seems like she's a very smart cookie indeed.
