What are your favorite songs by associated artists w/o Prince's involvement?

Most of Jesse Johnson's hits first come to mind.

I also really liked Rosie Gaine's version of Bob Marley's Turn Your Lights Down Low.

Sheila--Whatcha Gonna Do (and her cover of Lady Marmalade is great)
Wendy and Lisa--The Life is sweet, and I love the vocals. Still, Everything But You is my favorite. Such an incredible song.

Well it's annoying and rude that anytime brings up an associated artist all you ever do is make in irrelevant post saying "Prince is better by himself" etc.

Don't think there's any prince involvement on the album...her self-titled album is was the last time he contributed any material.

I like Rhonda's albums. I play them a lot. They're mellow and smooth. cool

"Love Hurts.
Your lies, they cut me.
Now your words don't mean a thing.
I don't give a damn if you ever loved me..."

i started to list Mechanical Emotion, it's a fave, but for some reason it has Prince written all over it to me. maybe the influence is just that strong and he had nothing to do with it all.

"Free World", "Baby Lets's Kiss (remix)", and "Crazay" by Jesse Johnson are amazingly great songs. In fact, I'd put "Crazay" on par with the best Prince material - and I don't say that lightly.
the music knows what your motives are when you are making it

listen to The Replacements - its good for the soul

I'm a big Jesse Johnson fan!

I wanna hear some more rock. I liked Jesse's earlier stuff, but he really had me at "Bare My Naked Soul" We need as much black rock as we can get.

Most songs by Andre Cymone, Jesse Johnson, and Morris Day.....except for that damn "Guaranteed" album and the last album Morris did about 2 or 3 years ago with the four shit hop tracks.

Are you referring to the song that goes something like "Alice through the looking glass..... Come and see Alice play..." or something like that?

Becuase I know Sheila performs a song like this live (at Celebration and at Family Jamm) but I could never find out what this song is or where it is from.

I once posted on here but no one knew. Is it a cover?
